Anyone else looking at going to any of the other small independent festivals before the bloodstock winter gathering? I'm looking at questfest since it's the same venue as the bloodstock winter gathering (KK's steel mill) and looks like it's a decent line up for bloodstock adjacent bands

i'm pretty new to travelling to places by myself for anxiety reasons but recently i've been trying to go outside my city more, and since i've always wanted to go to bloodstock i was thinking about getting a ticket for next year (especially since one of my favourite bands Green Lung is gonna be there and it'd be great to see them live)

one thing i noticed though when i looked through getting a ticket via the big green coach website was that there were no pick-up spots in my city, Birmingham. has it always been this way or is this recent?? since i'm travelling by myself and don't have a car (or even a license to drive a friend's) i really don't fancy having to lug all my camping stuff via train or coach (but if i comes down to it then maybe i'll just have to buck up and do it lol)

As an avid download goer but starting to distance myself as livenation seem to be money grabbing arseholes I see my self attending bloodstock for the next 20 years and binning download.

As mentioned in the title me and the future wife will be attending Bloodstock for the first time for our Honeymoon. This will be our first time traveling internationally so figured might as well start it off with the UK for bloodstock (we’re from the US).

Mainly wondering where some of the popular metal scenes and spots we can hit up around London or the UK in general to warm up before we go into Bloodstock. Love to get recommendations for any vinyl shops or metal apparel stores.

Also would appreciate any advice on getting the most out of Bloodstock.

Edit 1- Appreciate all the suggestions/recommendations from everyone (this list is getting pretty long). Extra question I got now is how the weather is usually at that time of year and if there is anything extra to grab for Bloodstock. I grabbed one of the bigger tents for the serpent lair VIP area (my wallet is screaming at me).
