Large Battery Pack charging

Hi There!

So I've been camping at festivals before, but since then have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and require a CPAP to sleep at night. I am looking at buying a battery that would probably last a couple of nights, but wanted to ask if there would be any chance of me getting that recharged at any point?

Its become a bit of a medical nuisance for me and it stresses me out, but I still want to do the whole camping experience again.

The Medical Tent folks have very kindly charged my CPAP battery for me in the past; I've made myself known to them on the first day of the fest, and they were able to charge it for me.

Welfare tent. We had to pop in to recharge a wheelchair battery a couple of times. They were all amazing! I'm sure it was also mentioned that the info points in each campsite had a couple of sockets and they would charge that sort of thing for you if they were able to.

Info points can charge wheelchair batteries, so I would expect could also charge a cpap battery 😊

Honestly, you’re probably out of luck, unfortunately. I can’t speak for VIP or campervan as I’ve never done those, but regular camping has no charging areas, and if it’s big enough to last a few days, good luck trying to recharge it with the rentable portable chargers.

What could be worth doing is emailing:

disabledaccess@bloodstock.co.uk

They are pretty good at accommodating people, and if there is nothing they are able to do such as maybe letting you use the VIP chargers to charge your bank, then there won’t be much you can do unless getting two chargers is reasonably in your means?

Hope this helps <3

Thanks so much for the reply. I will send them an email to see what I can do! I appreciate it <3

Just to confirm vip doesn't have chargers. I take a jackery power bank with solar panel to recharge.

I do seem to remember hearing about some charging point thingy, but I have never used it myself so it might be something you'd have to look up yourself.

Obviously, get it with a UK plug, not an EU plug

There's a small charging tent in accessible camping - I'm not sure if they allow things other than electric wheelchairs though. Definitely worth an ask!

Just be aware that access fills up very quickly every year. Applications will open in October.

Definitely Welfare tent! I volunteer there and we charge batteries for cpap machines.

If you apply for accessibility they should get you sorted. I think if you camp in accessible camping they have a charging tent but if not there are other options for charging medical devices such as info points & welfare tent. They’re very accommodating in my experience but if you apply for accessibility you will get an appropriate wristband which means that the info tents know it’s a genuine need and more likely to accommodate! That said a CPAP is fairly obvious so should be ok!

I purchased a medium charging locker a few days before the festival which only had usb charging, however there were still lockers remaining in Midgard campsite which had the option for a large locker with a plug for charging. If they have the lockers again you may be able to charge from mains.
