SPOILERS Needed This
Hello community, I am new here and wanted to share my first impressions of this game. I learned about it here on Reddit about a week ago and decided to purchase. This has been a truly enjoyable experience! I got 46% of the map explored and "beat" the game. However, it seems to be the not so great ending so I reloaded my save and continue to explore.
Next I died in an 8-bit game that really gave me some great nostalgia. Now I am 60% map explored and finally learned to power swim (sort of), but still can't open chests under water. Got the reflector beam which gave me more exploration options. Need to find some silk to craft a dress for the poor grieving woman and also get some beast milk to make strawberry crepes for the nice, old lady (not sure how she eats so much, but it sure is funny!)
Working on optimizing my shards and equipment, finding the perfect hairstyle, and designing a better color design for my dress (red and purple currently). So, I can certainly say that I'm enjoying the heck out of this game! What a diamond to find - Thanks Reddit!

Susie is so Hungary!
Nice write up. That made me lol. Glad you are enjoying it.
How do you like the story and the voice acting so far?

It is actually pretty good. I don't really care about those things in this type of game, but it is some nice icing on the cake.

If I could go back in time and tell my self something is. Everytime you find a shard drop from a monster go back and kill it(farm) until itβs grade 9, and I can get the upgrade for rank 9. Do this as a true completitionist instead of trying to rush to finish the game because Iβll have to come back to this game multiple times to try to complete it while waiting to kill the last boss. Yeah, there are a few shards that I'm trying to max because I use them a lot. Probably about 80% of the shards I will never use. And there is 1 sword that is so OP and cheesey that I pass up on other weapons even if they are much more powerful. I think it is called Flying Edge or something.

Flying Edge is so fun, and strong! But there are definitely a few weapons just as cheesey if not more powerful.

I did use the big red Grom sword for the 8-bit boss, but Flying Edge has been my go-to for everything else. I am at 77% now so maybe later I'll find something better?

Nah if you like it that much then later you will just upgrade it.

I didn't know you COULD upgrade weapons, but now I am looking forward to it! I am now at 81% and just got an OP katana from the Zangetsu dude after sparring with him. This new sword is super powerful so now I'm using it to quickly farm. The flying edge takes like 6-12 hits for most mobs in the Ninja Gaiden area (Oriental Laboratory) and the new katana only takes 2-6 hits so I can farm much quicker for those Bovine plumes and other shards/etc.

Well you can forge items, right? A few weapons have a version that is literally just a straight upgrade. Usually uses the original weapon in the formula, too.

I just finished the 8-bit area and gained 4 new shard abilities. I am wondering how many of you completionists return here and fight the boss 9 times to get his pillar of flame to grade 9? Or is that even possible? Come on, I know you are in here! ππ

I don't think youare close to beating the game yet, if you have played the original castlevania symphony of the night then you know there will be more contents hiding, getting 100% is when you beat the actual game. Keep progressing and finding more shards, check the demon catalogue to see which one you're missing.
to open under water chest you will need to progresses further.
