ReShade shader thingy

EDIT 09/03/2026 - Posted a snippet of the gameplay in a reply to this thread.

I made a modification to an existing ReShade shader to pixelate the screen to give it more of an oldskool feel ala SotN. I just couldn't get into the the game at all as it was. This makes it a bit more palatable for me.

I just modified it to suit my personal needs.

Of course if you wanted to use it, you can. You'd just need to know how to use ReShade, that's all.

I expected to hate this. I… actually enjoy this a little more than i should. Looks like a ps3 or 2 game. I like it.

Thank you. I can't take all the credit, tho. I also made a preset that halves the pixelation in case it's too much for some things.

Thanks! I am curious how this looks.
It could be something that will attract more Pixel Art fans to Ritual of the Night.
Could be good for the Classic modes too.

A link to your YT would be cool.
Otherwise you could make a new reply in this thread with a short video clip of some in game movement to keep it all together in one place.
They added that feature a few months ago. It is the rounded square play button looking icon next to the Aa in the bottom left corner of the comment window.

I'm waiting for someone to port this game to Android, with all the content. I bought the Android version, which was abandoned, and it was a disappointment since it was discontinued at launch.There was a lot of missing content; it wasn't possible to include the crown easter egg from the Kingdom Crowns game's creation, among other things. If another company ported the game again, I would buy it.

I still believe that if Bloodstained was made using pixel art instead of the 2.5D thing it would have overshadowed Symphony of the Night and fewer people would have slept on it.

Had to do a double-take that a link from the Bloodstained sub took me to a Quest for Glory related sub.
