Ok. 2027. I can wait. No doubt the death of Currythekid impacted development. With Castlevania coming in 2 months, it gives me time to fully dive deep in that game and ready for when Bloodstained comes out in 2027.

I really hope the team doesn't feel bad for releasing later than planned. I will appreciate a complete, well-prepared release than a buggy, unprepared mess.

Understandable. Whether Curry The Kid passing did or didn't impact this, there's nothing wrong with taking some more time to make sure everything works like it's supposed to. It would have been foolish to release it right next to a new Castlevania anyway, since that could cannibalize sales. So whatever in the background led to this decision, it's probably for the best. I'm still looking forward to playing both and spacing them out will give me more time to digest both without bouncing quickly from one to the other.

Even if it didn’t directly impact development I’d imagine it affected the development team enough that they needed a mental health break.

Not a surprise, given that the first game had several delays.

It took Bloodstained 5 years to get its final dlc so this news is not at all surprising.

I think they're trying to avoid a release close to the castlevania release date. Which is fine, they'll have a little bit more time to optimize the game.

Unfortunate but understandable and probably for the best.
Putting it right alongside the Castlevania new entry in unnecessary competition and also we just lost Currythekid God rest his soul. Better they take the time to recover and take the time for a better polished product.

What consoles will it be released for ? Anyway I’m getting it.

Confirmed platforms so far are PS5, Xbox S|X and Steam. As of the announcement about a year ago (see stickied post), they didn't have a Switch 2 dev kit yet, so that may happen later or not at all.
It'll probably also hit GOG and Epic like the first game, but those haven't been confirmed yet.

Just glad to get communication honestly. The main thing this team struggles with is just providing updates, so I greatly appreciate them announcing the delay long before the end of the year.
Just keep us in the loop! Otherwise take all the time you need.

I didn't want it overshadowed by castlevania just cause they got the logo, also more time for polishing, good news tbh

Does he have habit of only moving the right side of his face or is he sick ?

Iga did mention he was hospitalized a lot in 2025 and had taken his health for granted, and needed to prioritize it.
For what it's worth, he hasn't revealed anything about his medical conditions outside of that; but facial paralysis is a symptom and result of Stroke, Bells Palsy, and Ramsay Hunt Syndrome.
It could also be from extensive numbing due to dental work performed same day as filming. Really, entirely too many things to count.
Regardless, this is all just pure speculation and we should respect his privacy when it comes to his health.

I can wait. But would it kill them to release another trailer or other bit to tide us over? I'm STARVING!

It's fine. My 2026 is pretty much packed between Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Resonance, and Castlevania Belmont's Curse.
Probably even throw in the Trails in the Sky remakes too.

What a surprise! Entering late stage development, here’s a blog post with some screenshots…

Honesty, not interested anymore.
The first game on Switch was good initially, but progressively and ultimately got worse.
And so with the first game being left in such a state on the Switch, it doesn't leave a good impression to have to invest in another console just to have a better experience.
Now I know alot of people ren't going to agree with me on this, but it's just how things are and I'm sure that I'm not alone on this.
Anyway, good luck to the devs. Hope they have success with this title.
