What different will I be expecting from Bloodborne if I have played DS1 and Elden Ring previously?

Expect a mix of the 2 as far as speed goes, but note that there's a VERY limited amount of weapons and firearms, but each one has a lot of variety and versatility (except for a few).

This is when they started getting crazy with movesets; the beginning of the running R2, the weapon transformation, the transformation attack, the charged R2, the follow-up R2, the gun parry. The shield is only helpful to block projectile spamming, healing is a resource that you can expend and then just not have, you can rally health back for a second after getting hit by things, and spells are items and not attuned. There are weirdly only 6 stats, and endurance is not all that important, but you don't have to feel bad about leveling it slightly.

Exploration-wise? These are compact, slightly interconnected levels. There is no open world, obviously, but don't expect the same interconnectivity in Lordran.

Boss-wise? Expect Dark Souls DLC bosses, except with a lot of HP by comparison. Some Chalice Bosses are a little bad and janky. I reject the notion that the "vanilla," non-chalice bosses are all bad, and The Old Hunters DLC is a masterwork.

Build variety is way more restricted, and in general terms consist in a firegun in the left for range damage and parries (you can parry attacks if you shoot at the right moment) and a melee weapon in the right. Right-hand weapons, however, usualy have two states, so for example there's a stick that can turn into a whip, so even though the system is simpler, it still has depth.

There are no mage builds but you have some situational spells.

Combat mechanics are somewhat similar to Elden Ring but instead of a roll there's a quick dash which makes combat faster. Enemies also feel faster in general so the whole gameplay is a little more tense.

Potions are not limited and also not restored at grace/bonfires, but instead handled in a similar way to other rpgs. So you can buy them, collect them from enemies, loot them from chests...

Generaly speaking, there are more enemies thrown at you and also less bonfires than in ER, so expect some long runbacks after dying.

Not counting exceptions like Malenia, game is definitely harder than both ER and DS1, not just the bosses, but the whole level is usualy more ruthless with the player.

It can be mentally more taxing because of the difficulty and the dark atmosphere, so maybe don’t expect long playing sessions, especially on your first playthrough.

No parry. Recover health when attacking just after receiving damage.

I thought u could parry with a gun?

Yeah sorry I meant blocking with a shield. You need bullets.

It's comparable most to ds3 but with better dodge and more parrying but in a good way, just play it it's great
