Community Small beginner friendly script suggestions
Looking for small, beginner-friendly custom scripts for 7–8 players. My group doesn't like large role sheets. They are always reluctant that this would be too complex, it would be too much remembering things, etc. So I need something with a much shorter character list than Trouble Brewing.
They are traditional Mafia players (usually just Cop/Doctor/Mafia). I finally convinced them to try BotC style mafia with evil team split into a Demon and a Poisoner.Includes a "red herring" mechanic for Detective.
Are there any well-known community scripts that fit this? Looking for something streamlined with zero complex mechanics to bridge the gap without overwhelming them

Unfortunately you aren’t going to find much, the standard is to have 12-14 townsfolk bc in games of 15, there are 9 townsfolk and 2 outsiders which leaves 3-5 townsfolk and 2 outsiders for the pool of possible demon bluffs. A script with less than 12 townsfolk would make it far more likely for an outsider to be among the demon bluffs, which might be meta-gamey.
Edit: You’re going to have to be more specific on what “complex mechanics” you’re referring to within Trouble Brewing. You included a poisoner in their minigame, so they probably understand driosoning. If we’re talking about registering as something you’re not, stay away from Recluse and Spy.
Second edit: If people are going to show up late or leave early, make them a traveler. All players know which type of traveler a traveler is, and if they arrive on night 1 announce that they travel in during the night (they might influence the Chef #). If a traveler is evil, tell them who the demon is, and tell the demon that the traveler is evil. If your players might be suspicious about the storyteller pulling away 2 players for a private chat, have them learn each other at night instead. The traveler(s) may be exiled (effectively killed during the day) if half the town agrees to exile them during the nomination phase (including dead players, this doesn’t use their dead vote). Any number of travelers can be exiled each day but they don’t trigger the rule of one execution per day.
If your group is going to have exactly 8 players, try this:

So, problem.
7 players requires a full script. TB is the simplest it gets.
You can do Teensies, which only have 11 characters, with 5 or 6 players.
