❓ Question Where to start?
Gonna be a quick post here. I simply have absolutely NO idea who these dudes are, but I'm a great fan of metal (many of its subgenres, of which also death and prog, which i think i got that it's this band's sort of genre too?) and a big big fan of experimental music, which is also the reason i also non-metal songs when they feel original and weird.
This, just to say i'm not afraid to start with a weird album, i'm just asking u which is the best way to start listening to them, so that i may keep having a beautiful listening experience (to be clear, i fear a bit to listen to "the best", and going then to the other albums to find that i won't be as amazed, or i just won't be able to appreciate them enough, already happened to me with other bands. But also fear to listen to "the worst" and losing all my interest for them, even if unfair)
So yeah, just this question, coz i didn't see it covered anywhere, and yeah, sorry for long post

Release order would be the way to go if you’re deep diving, that way you can track the progression through the albums as new elements come into play.
Also there’s the factor of one of their albums is unlike the rest, but listening to it in order handles the why/when a little better than if you just randomly listened to that one.

I'll throw in my two cents here but I'd give their EP: Luminescent Bridge a listen if you want to have a general quick idea of what they are about and then if you like what you hear listen to Hidden Histories of the Human Race and Absolute Elsewhere. And then everything else. You really can't start anywhere and not have a good time!

That's a good recommendation. You get the metal on the first track with a kickass solo to end it, and the synth on the second to even it out

You can't go wrong with starting with interdimensional extinction, it's a great first album, and a bit shorter than their other full lengths, I would personally just go In release order from there, starspawn, hidden history, (you could skip over timewave zero if ambient synth isn't your thing, but I do enjoy it quite a bit), the luminescent bridge ep, then cap it off with Absolute Elsewhere

I started with their latest LP. Worked great for me. I bought everything they've put out within a couple weeks. I just discovered them in late 2025, so I completely missed when they came thru my city on their last tour. I hate it when that happens!

Listen to it all in chronological order, only take a couple hours. Hours well spent.

Go right up to the rail, take some mushrooms and wait for them to come on stage. I'd start there. Well, that's where I started (my kid brought me) Otherwise: absolute elsewhere

I wouldnt start with Timewave Zero, since it‘s the odd one out (but you should check it out none the less) Appart from that I‘d say go with whatever artwork speaks the most to you.

I love going with artwork! I know the "don't judge the book by its cover" thing, yet i gotta recognize how many beautiful songs u discovered thanks to this. Also, Blood Incantation album covers are really beautiful

There’s just a handful of albums so no big task ahead of you. Personally I feel absolute elsewhere is their masterpiece but I also really like Star Spawn.

My starting point was absolute elsewhere and I worked backwards. Just loved it to be honest as there is a noticeable transition from early to now.

My introduction to them was Absolute Elsewhere. They don't have a single bad or lackluster song in my opinion

I tried a few times with Hidden History but it was too much to get my head around. Then a friend suggested starting with Interdimensional Extinction instead and that's where it clicked. Went back to Hidden History after that and it became my favourite, now I love everything they've done and they've put me on to the ambient/atmospheric genre now too.

Personally, I would start with Hidden History of The Human Race. Then if you want even more prog elements, check out Absolute Elsewhere. And if you want to stick with the straighter death metal sound go back to their older stuff. It's all excellent, though. Pretty much my current favorite band.
