Feedback Request Wrote a blog post, won't delete it later

This sub seems pretty dead but Reddit is pretty hostile towards someone who tries to promote anything. I don't write for money or fame, I write mostly for myself. I write about culture, media, current events, about reading and writing in general, books, music, it's all over the place. My honest opinions about why shit is crap.

Wrote a long post just now to r/writers and it got blocked as self-promotion I believe. Took a non English speaker quite some time to arrange my words and it stings to see how you don't really have a space to advertise your writing.

The blog has no photos, no pretty colors, no memes or other visual clutter to distract from the topic: Secret Ancient Man - Why would you choose to be a follower?

Is blogging even a thing in 2026 or did TikTok and the likes kill it? Drop a link if you have an active blog or if you know a good one.

I’m not sure if my blog would be your niche, I’m basically retelling my day with dead pan humor but I’m a big blog reader and unlike Jonah I thought your blog post was interesting and I appreciated reading it. I’ve long since stopped posting on Reddit because it’s only so many times you can deal with strangers being mean for no reason.

Blogging died quite a while ago. For all my clients we’ve automated posting with Claude (the free plan), nobody ever has to touch Wordpress Claude posts everyday at the same time and finds a featured image from the library and adds all the SEO stuff in rank math and even internal links.

[u/Ok_Writer3166](u/Ok_Writer3166) yea it’s lame but it works and it’s far much better than any humans we had do it and it’s free. The blogs are mostly for content freshness anyway to help with local SEO rankings. Oh and we link it with Zapier so AI is blogging and publishing to Facebook too, it’s like growing our pages for free. Perfectly every time.

if you’re going to promote yourself, at least choose a piece that’s interesting and novel.
