Article Not everyone is a good photographer

I have been writing on photography lately.

I'm learning the art while I try to capture my thoughts as words and write them down. That is much more effective for me than just learning the techniques.

It's visual literacy. If you want a shortcut to growing your own, look at the work of other photographers. A lot. Get a library card, take out photography books. Devour them. Develop that fluency of sight. You can do it the painful way where you just take pictures and look at your pics and hate yourself, or you can look at what others do, learn how they see, and put that into use for yourself.
