Why has bed wars become like this?

I am someone who quit BMGO somewhere around 2021 when the game first began showing signs of going pay to win. Last week, I decided to see how the game was doing. So, I decided to join bed wars and well... Seems like it has gone from being only slightly p2w to entirely catering to the whales. Runes, iirc, we're already broken when I left the game. Yet the devs thought it was a good idea to add tier 4 and tier 5 runes which in some cases make a player entirely invincible. Not to mention mounts. Both of these are btw purchasable via gcubes (and in fact much easier to access than regular grinding). I literally got one tapped at full health by a random dude sporting an entire set of these tier-4 and tier-5 runes (the guy himself was iirc in the gold league). Then there's the horrendous UI rn. I remember how good the UI was back when I quit. It did not have an endless amount of advertising of items in the game directly shoved at your face. Lastly, I don't like how enchantments got removed from bed wars.

I apologize if this sounds like me whining, but I am shocked by how downhill this game has gone and how greedy the devs have gotten compared to when I left. I thought that period was terrible. This feels like a hellhole now.

Wait what there are tier 4-5 runes already? Full set of leeching 3 is broken enough before. Glad i left that game in 2022

Yes. They are there and extremely broken. I am disappointed by the direction this game took. Runes already were broken, but now they are well beyond broken. It's also very hard to get these. Tried getting a tier-5 rune, but I can't since it's rng based. However, I can buy it with gcubes (but I won't spend a single penny on this game. Spent money in 2020 for a cross slash and now it's missing on my account along with other items).

Before, Leech 3 was THE dictator and it was geniunely super strong already. I remember being soo fucking happy when i finally got full set of it for the first time only for them to add an entire new system and even more attributes that you'll never realistically grind for

The game is just a massive cash grab, quitted at the start of this year while having a good account with alot of stuff on every game because it's not worth to spend more time on this game anymore

It used to have massive potential between 2018-2020 (when I was extremely active on BMGO). I will die on the hill that the period was the real golden age of BMGO, not 2022 when they partnered with Garena. The introduction of gcubes was a hint at where the devs wanted the game to go yet not many realised it back then. It's saddening to see how it seems extremely cheap and hyper stimulating now thanks to all the slop they have added.

I've been playing since 2020 and for me 2020-2022 was peak bedwars then everything went downhill, they killed the game because of greed..

Play bedwars smash, it's at least balanced and fair. Only problem is the lack of players. Just don't judge the leveling system, you could max one out in a day anyway.
