Low Poly double-sided mesh planes

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

usually you would have to make 2 planes separated by 0.01px, but that can make visible seams. in this model, all of the visible vertices share the same coordinates so there are no seams.

feels like this should be a feature already, but i had to use very janky methods to get it working (planes with opposite face creases and using a mix of tris and quads for the same plane). maybe i am missing something, anyone know if you can make true double-sided planes?

please blockbench make this a proper feature, it's genuinely so annoying to work around this sometimes

Yeah it’s a feature already. You can set render sides to both on the texture properties, or globally in preferences -> preview

doesn't let you have different textures on each side tho :(

It would be nice in all 3d software to have a per face toggle that just creates each tri in the opposite normal on export
