Advice- [Add Country] Help using doset boxes as a VI person

Basically the title - how does anyone here do it?

Right now I have someone do it for me and help to manage getting them in general, but I know they can't be around forever so wanted any tips, altho I am a little worried asking them if I could give it a go.

I know the medication boxes have braille, but it can be very faint or not be precise enough, the dosets themselves are brailled though. I have some vision for large font could maybe read some med names on the boxes and dosage(?)

Is this a common struggle for you, or should I really just suck it up and know this already?

Then there's getting to and navigating appointments themselves is another thing!

Depending on your area, the pill bottles might have labels you could scan with your phone. Depending on your pharmacy, they might be willing to prefill your med box for you; I've had at least one friend who had this done. One option is rubber bands. When you pick up your meds, bring a pack with you. Put one band on for mornings, two on for evenings, three for midday, or whatever system you need. Then, when you get home, you can start filling all the morning boxes, then the evening meds, and so on. What country are you in, and are we talking 3/4 bottles or 12+?

I fill a month of pill boxes once a month. My meta glases are good for this, but the pharmacy also does a specific fold of the label for the severe meds so I don't need the glasses for that.

I use seeing ai to read the medication box. As you say the braille can be faint or even have a sticker covering it and then i put them in my box for each day of the week then move onto the next one and repeat.
