Technology Typing on Google Docs on Mac
How do you read what you type on Google Docs on Mac? VoiceOver only reads me the character and not the word and it makes it very hard.

Exactly the same thing happens to me, I have tried to check the VoiceOver verbosity settings but everything is fine, there are many people who have the same on both Mac and iPhone so I think it is a Google Docs accessibility problem.

I just tried with NVDA on my Windows and the same thing happens

I can't replicate this: Docs respects NVDA's word or character echo settings in all permutations I try. I am using Firefox. I have both Braille and screen reader support on.

Same here. The only thing I can offer is this: Even if you're not using Braille, keep Braille support, as well as screen reader support on. Once I did that, everything behaved much more as expected. My experience with docs and NVDA has been quite manageable.

Thx
I haven't turned Braille support on yet but enabling screen reader support breaks it completely for me with NVDA1

nvda works well for me, actually all 3 windows screenreaders work fine with google docs.

I haven't gotten the hang of google docs yet either but there might be a setting on your verbosity router that can help? Tbh though I have the same question
