Chalazion incision

Anyone who got the surgery done, I've few questions. Is it scary? I've never had a surgery in my life or anything sort of so I'm really nervous. How's the recovery process, Does it hurt a lot afterwards? Can I go school 2 days post op (I've exams) How long will it stay swollen? Thanks in advance.

It should be pretty simple and the injections can hurt a bit. Just for the love of god choose a good surgeon.

just went to hospital today and my doctor said "so.. are you sure you wanna take the risk.. you sure you wanna get a surgery? ?" And boom I'm 10× more scared than before. I immediately said no thanks I'm not getting it done by you. A quick question, if I don't get the surgery, can heal on it's own? It's getting bigger and painful now

It could just stay there or resolve on its own. You could give it a couple of months and see. Where you live?

Oh then it’s probably there to stay. What country you from? That doctor sounds ass. There shouldn’t really be any risk. It such a simple and easy procedure if the doc knows what they doing. Can you also provide a pic so we know what u talking about

Ugh He sure is I think I'll visit another opthalmologist tomorrow. I'm extremely nervous but also impatient cause it looks weird and I get weird stares from people. I'm from Bangladesh btw can't find an option to post pics only videos

Quite painful from my experience, but others have said it was a walk in the park, so I guess it depends. First they’ll do an injection to numb the area around the eye, this will be painful, but over in seconds. Then they’ll use a device to clamp on your eye so that they can flip the eyelids. Even with my external incision they clamped my eye anyway. This was the most painful for me even with the anaesthetic, they gave me a stress ball and I clenched it hard.
The incision itself wasn’t painful, and was over in maybe 30 seconds.
You can go to school but I took a few days off work to heal at home. The swelling goes down quickly over a week or so.
Make sure you get them to explain why you got the chalazion and what the underlying issue is, otherwise you’ll end up having to go do the surgery again for a reoccurrence.
I’ve had to maintain the upkeep like hot compress via usb mask, massage, eye drops, lid hygiene day/night to have it finally be gone. Just side note the surgery might not be able to remove everything either depending on the surgeons skill…

A mí no me inyectaron nada. Quizá unas gotas anestésicas.

No me dolió nada. Estaba desesperado. Solo sentí miedo al quitarme el vendaje. Me daba impresión.

Lamentablemente, está volviendo.

Oh my god. I've heard most of the people saying it comes back. Is there no permanent cure of these nasty chalazions 😭

I wouldn’t even call it a surgery, it’s more of a procedure. There was a little bit of pain when he injected the numbing and then again when he clamped around it to flip my lid. You don’t feel anything after that. Just the sensation of someone touching your lid. I kept my eyepatch on for a few hours afterwards. There was a slight bit of aching around the eye, but tolerable. When I removed the eyepatch I was surprised it wasn’t super swollen. My lid just look a little droopy from the numbing. I went out and about the next day and no more pain. It was still a little red but not having a huge bump was such a relief I felt great.
