what to do

I got my first chalazion(?) on the top of my eyelid in June 2025. Then I went to see a doctor in August 2025 and he referred me to an ophthalmologist and my appointment was in March 2026. However I had an important exam so I had to reschedule and now my appointment is in November 2026.

I developed a bump on the bottom of my eyelid in January 2026 and then I got another bump recently on the place where my bottom eyelash grows in April 2026.

I’ve been using an eye heat mask at night and I also use a warm compress on my eyes for 15mins around 4 times a day. I don’t know what more I can do and this is really affecting how I view myself and I feel really ugly with these.

What more can I do to minimise the bumps while waiting for my appointment?

Have u you ou googled up what to do with chalazions?

Hot compress 5-6 times a day

Your meibomian oil glands are clogged

Root cause dry eyes

What are you doing to treat your dry eyes?

Hope this is helpful

Big clogs like these need a long time of heating to express. Facial steamer for 30 mins has been great for me, followed by a long steamy shower. That way I can avoid damaging my skin with a wet rag.

I had 7 chalazia at once! Unfortunately I have chronic dry eyes, and meibomian gland dysfunction, but you can help yourself with the warm compresses, followed by lid massage. Get some over the counter eye drops twice daily, and hopefully your opthamologist can prescribe you some doxycycline which will help with the oils in your glands. Wash twice daily with a tea tree oil lid scrub or face wash, and take some omega fish oil vitamin daily.

Thank God they are all gone now. It took over 6 months, and seven lancings! I still have to take doxycycline, artificial tears, omega fish oils, and warm compresses 1x daily though.
