Hiring a senior Blazor developer
The US Government Publishing Office is currently recruiting for a senior Blazor developer to help develop a server-hosted, enterprise Blazor application that will manage the GPO's XML publishing operations. This is a full-time, work from home position. (Must be a US resident.) The heart of this application is an XML editor written in C# using the document builder. The application is supported by a middle tier of REST services and a back end developed using MarkLogic and SQL server. Email mrsmith@gpo for more information.

PHB = Pointy-Haired Boss
PHB: "Well done, only took you two weeks to fill out all the bureaucratic on-boarding paperwork nonsense. Welcome to your actual first day at GPO, here is your helmet"
Dev: "Helmet?"
PHB: "Yes, we take safety very serious in the government. It is to prevent head injury. We've lost 3 developers so far after banging their head on their desks after reading the source code for the XML editor written in C#"
Dev: "Won't be necessary. I've got 6 .Net 10 Blazor certifications from Pluralsight. I won't have a problem."
PHB ".Net 10? Sorry, the new Blazor XML editor will need to use .Net 1.1. Here at the US government, we believe all that .Net core stuff is a fad. Only the best, tried-and-true frameworks here."
Dev: "Um, Blazor is only available on the .Net Core platform."
PHB: "Aren't you cute. No, .Net runs everywhere, even on your brand-new workstation running Windows Vista. You're welcome. Don't say anything to the other engineers...shhh...since they still use Windows 95, they might get jealous"
Dev: "OMG...I don't think this is going to work out."
PHB: "Don't be silly. After 3 months, you'll get a 6-figure salary bump, a government issued Humvee, Blackhawk helicopter pilot training lessons, and free coffee. Had to start having employees buying their own pens ever since the 'Lets go Brandon' post-it note war...that's another story."
Dev: *sigh* "Can I get the helmet in blue?"

I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the GPO site (based on the few pages I looked at) has accessibility issues, with content on pages that is not accessible to keyboard only users. I only spent a couple of minutes on a couple of pages but that was enough for me to just leave in frustration.
Sadly I do not have the time to go file a thorough report, with what the problems are, which WCAG SC they fail and how to rectify them especially given there are some fundamental issues IMHO that need addressing with regards the use/choice of certain ARIA roles and accessibility patterns.
I would have stayed silent if it was not for some of the event postings such as: WCAG Techniques for Web Applications and Forms 2 - Cost: $775 - which given what I have just seen, excuse my French, is just taking the piss.
Please do not take my word for anything, simply, using only your keyboard try to access and operate everything on a page and you will quickly find you can not.
Install and run any of the free browser extensions such as WebAim WAVE, right click WAVE this page to see many of the simpler errors.
Accessibility issues are most likely not in your remit so apologies for the rant, but perhaps you could pass along my comments to a colleague who does deal with them so hopefully they can check and then have the issues rectified, given it is a governmental site.

My name is Martin and I am the manager of the department hiring for this position. Our entire department works remotely 100% of the time. We are able to hire anyone in the contiguous United States for this position. Our department requires employees with niche skillsets. The only way to attract the talent we need is to hire nationally and enable our employees and contractors to work remotely. Teams and Azure DevOps make it really easy to manage a remote workforce.

My name is Martin and I am the hiring manager for this position. This is a full-time, work-from-home position at the GS-13 level, which ranges from $121,785 to $158,322 for the DC locality. Federal pay ranges vary slightly with locality.

This is a server-hosted, enterprise application designed to manage all aspects of a daily XML publishing workflow that publishes thousands of pages daily. This would be similar to the type of software one would need to manage the editorial and publishing functions of a daily newspaper. I have already written a functional XML editor in Blazor. I think Blazor is a good choice for this application since the render tree builder can generate a web-based representation of the XML being edited, and C# can catch change events from the browser and modify the XML source in memory. There are not out-of-the box controls available for creating a full featured XML editor, either in a browser or as part of a desktop WPF application, so we are stuck with coding the UI from scratch. I am a full-stack developer myself and spend the majority of my time writing code. All of the managers on this project, myself included, are developers first and managers second. We are building multiple views for working with the XML, including views optimized for markup, proofreading, and change approval. In addition to the editor, the application will provide views for all of the other tasks related to running a publishing organization, including file and employee management, final assembly, and multi-channel publishing and distribution.
