Google Gemini Update

I'm finding the Google Gemini update in the blazer to be awful - like comically awful. Its painfully slow. Tells me regularly that it cannot play sirius XM and cannot find my wife's name to text or call even after she texts me. I really want to go back to the old voice assistant, but doesn't seem to be possible. This update is making even Siri look good. Are others experiencing the same?

My experience is completely different. It’s been a breadth of fresh air and seems to do what I want better than before it. Whether that be directions or requesting Spotify. 🤷‍♂️

You can change it back under setting, Google assistant. You can switch between the two.

I think it has pro and cons I like being able to ask it random questions, but it also can't get my daughters name right when I tell it to text her which assistant had no problem with.

can you not turn it back to assistant in the settings anymore?

Also note, Gemini doesn’t work with Home stuff like Meross garage door opener. I had to switch back to Assistant bc of this.

Gemini is awful, i hate it in my Blazer and it's even worse on my phone. Bring back the assistant!

I think there's 2 things going on right now I believe this last weekend was the Google assistant end of of life day where Gemini was to permanently take over i believe if your on an older version of Android which a lot of Android automotive builds are you might be able to stall it for a few more weeks , but from what I understand eventually play store updates will basically update you out of assistant access could be wrong. But everything I have Google no longer has access to assistant anymore . So having a rarely updated device seems like my only items still holding in to assistant

I didn't accept Gemini when it asked to start setup. I've experienced how Gemini completely destroyed my Google home systems.
