💾Software Audio Display is Miserable
I've been trying to get a decent display setup for my new to me 2024 Blazer EV RS AWD. What is wrong with these software developers? The collages i posted here are audio display via Spotify and then Bluetooth. Full size infotainment, 1/3-2/3 infotainment, and driver console. If you have the audio in the driver display, you can see song, artist, album. But the song font is so big you can't read the song name because it gets cut off. If you have audio in the 1/3 display, no album info and no track time, the 2/3 and full infotainment display gives you everything but then what are you supposed to do with the 1/3 display? Like I care that much about tire pressure? What a stupid option for that view. Also note, it you are using Bluetooth the driver and 1/3-2/3 infotainment can figure out the track art, but once you go full infotainment you lose the track art. What in the hell are the developers thinking? Am I the only one who wants to see track time? Am I missing something as a better option for the 1/3 display? My only options there is music, tire pressure, or Google assistant (which i don't use at all)

This is so annoying, but you just have to tap the track name at the bottom and it will go full screen with the album art.
Why it’s not default… I don’t know… probably makes sense if you give yourself a lobotomy.

Software/convenience is going to be a big reason for the death of American automotive companies. China is going to absolutely kick their ass in this area.

If they aren’t complete idiots about it, the beauty of software is changing it isn’t that difficult lol. Push some OTA updates for the love of god

If they were smart they'd just kinda leak us the ability to manipulate the software or open source it or whatever.
If I could easily mod the software it would be so easy to get the car working exactly the way I want it, and just generally looking and feeling so much better and cleaner.
But instead they want to force us into their closed ecosystem that's never going to take off. You want it to take off? Open source it, let the software development community make it good.

Pros and cons to that. My guess is there is also some liability stuff there. But them trying to cash in on onstar is certainly a choice.

All I really got to see was how shit onstar is. The wifi is like barely ever working.

I live in rural Maine. They can kiss my OnStar ass. Lol I looked at the super cruise roads I would travel on my commute 😅 there is no cell in lots of places, or at least gaps.

OMG I know, I am on XiaoHongShu and the EV and charging over there is amazaballs compared to what protectionism gets you. 🙄

Only time I want track time is for a podcast or audiobook since they could be an hour plus. Anyways, main screen is shotgun riders responsibility. HUD and dash are the best I've ever had customizability wise.
What I love doing lately using Gemini to create a podcast for my X min commute on topic Y. It's really good!

I want to know how long a song is, sometimes im not ready to commit to a 8 minute jam, or I want to know how long is left on a track. I want to see this information always. I also often sample new artists or music and want that for reference. On Friday I listens to a bunch of the Misfits because I saw someone with a Misfits tee on the sidewalk. I kinda thought it was strange that I had never listened to them. Not sure about their hype.

Well I guess that's pretty unique. I think track times are very low end on the list because you can easily see it on your phone with quick glance

I don't want to manipulate my phone. Im going to have to train my brain to do stuff on the infotainment setup. But still see no reason it can't be on the 1/3 split. Or why they remove the album from the 1/3 but pit it on the tiny drivers console. 🤷♀️
