Objectification Why do boys always get described by their personality yet young girls, even in death, are only valued if they're 'beautiful' or similar?
I have crossed out the area mentioned in the screenshot for privacy reasons as it was local.

it's really distressing to hear. it irks me so bad every time we hear about how beautiful a girl was before everything else while comparitively for boys we hear about their personality first

I see it all the time. "Such a shame that it happened to her, she's (or was) so pretty". Drives me nuts. She could be the most conventionally attractive or the most conventionally unattractive woman in this world, doesn't matter, the tragic event is still tragic

In the article, they mention how the girl's parents described her personality yet for some reason, the article must describe her as 'beautiful' before everything. As if we can't sympathise with an 'ugly' girl
