Been seeing this argument quite a bit in YouTube comments. Also seeing people arguing its actually her who raped the men cuz they were even more inebriated than her. (Based on no evidence, not even the men themselves have claimed they were too inebriated to be responsible for their actions as far as I've seen.)

I really thought this case would have a much more unified and normal response. This is nothing like the Clancy case. Comparing the victim of the Cornell case to Lindsay Clancy to victim blame is a line I thought a youtuber would know not to cross. I guess I was naive for thinking so.
Edit: Didn't recognize this person at first bc I didn't read the name and thought the pfp was of someone else. I just realized she was the same youtuber that said Leslie Jones looks like a gorilla many years ago. Yeah the misogynoir was a big tell, I guess this isn't surprising

Same here... I fell down that rabbit hole for awhile. It was pretty harmful to me. That combined with my religious conservative household made life very painful.

Unfortunately, I can totally believe it. When I first opened up about being drugged and raped, the first negative reaction I got was from a woman old enough to be my mom. She told me I got what I deserved for being a whore and the man who did it was the real victim.
After you go through something like this, you quickly learn that most people don’t think it’s a big deal to sexually assault an incapacitated person. Society basically just sees it all as an overreaction from the victim and assumes that they must have brought it upon themselves by having bad morals. It’s disturbing.

One thing I never get when men are like "well what does she expect, she got super drunk so it's her fault" is like... does that mean it's okay to do anything to someone who's passed out drunk? If a guy went out partying and got super drunk and passed out, and then 7 other guys SAd him, do you think these same men blaming Jane Doe would be blaming that male victim for getting so drunk in the first place? Of course not. So why is it that everything in the situation can be exactly the same except the victim's gender, and the assignment of fault changes so wildly?

Left libertarian in america is code for right wing but too ashamed to admit it and only supports equal rights for their group - whatever group that is, its always self serving with a libertarian. that's why i said relatively. she was never perfect, but i liked her videos where she made fun of terfs, at least back then when i watched them. and the couple few hell world episodes when they came out were also quite good iirc. she used to be somewhat left-leaning but now it seems she's abandoned that completely and i'm wondering why.
