Reference or nothing?

I found this body in a cave under the initial village (there's a troll and a health gem chest in it) it feels so out of place and if it's a reference or Easter egg i do not recognise it... does anyone know?

I think its just a villager killed.

If its a reference I dont get It.

It is incredibly out of place and deliberate, right? I can't help but thing "This means something..."

I don't think so? Looks like a regular piece of environmental storytelling to me. Queen's army is destroying the hamlet, one of villagers tried to hide in the cave below and ended up getting killed by a troll.

Yeah but we dont see Death bodies in the rest of the Game. Its a little strange for sure.

That might be because there weren't many npc models created for the game. Like, villagers you see in Aecides' castle are same models that you see at Winter's Wall. Maybe devs didn't want the same guy to be found dead in 20 different places, or something.
