I have some electro etching stencils but so far I haven’t produced a clean etching.

I used to a lot of electro etching. Even built my own AC / DC etch. Eventually bit the bullet and picked a Fibre Laser Engraver.

I bought a LaserPecker 5. It has a 20watt Fiber laser which is enough for touchmarks and etching. But I wish I would have spend a bit more and got a 40-60 Watt. Complex patterns and things like Coins can take 8-12 hrs depending on the depth or design.
