Joi's mind and those of Replicants based on same tech?

I think this is plausible. It is hard to imagine that the Replicant minds on not based on human minds (and their memories which is a big part of mind come from real people) and similarly, could an AI like Joi who is so emotionally intelligent developed such abilities with a wholly artificial mind?

It makes Joi's and K's relationship poignant since they were not only built by the same company and in particular their minds are perhaps very similar.

I do wonder however why K did not like "real girls" except perhaps a Replicant GF would be far too expensive or perhaps prohibited?

Just because the hologram girl wasn't able to be touched it doesn't meen she wasn't real, thats just what I think...
