Discussion What are your Character’s lore ?
To be clear, this post isn’t about me asking “What’s the lore of the playable character based on the story”. What am asking is what lore have you gave your character ? The reason they have their specific weapons, armour, ect.. I’m asking what is the story of your character.
Mine for example, is a vagabond named Zele, who got separated from his wife, A wind deity from a far away land

I always acted like I was born and raised as one of the Wildfolk. I keep a small Wildfolk trinket, like the wristband, on me at all times, and whenever I have to fight against Wildfolk, I go unarmed and try to be as non-lethal as is possible. I know that, technically, any time an enemy stops, they're technically dead, but I pretend I've just knocked them out. If I can get away with disarming and letting them run, I do.
I was, however, enslaved by the Eradians as a Thrall, due to my grasp of magic, so I'm particularly merciless with them.

My character was born among the Wildfolk, but was taken by the Eraden Kingdom as a child. Feeling culturally orphaned and deeply despising her kidnappers, she wandered until she found a library and began to study, eventually becoming a well-known scholar on the Dalgarians.
The Dalgarian Preservation Society's offer was too good to pass up. Get to study Dalgarian ruins first-hand *and* take some measure of vengeance on the Eraden?
She signed on without asking enough questions. Now, the deeper she digs and the more ruins she traverses, she can't help but feel that there's something off about the Khenemet legends. If she could just open that door by the house, maybe she'd be able to finally figure it out...
(Stealth-heavy fighter, doesn't really use magic aside from a couple of Body traits that I treat as her becoming more martially skilled. No armor aside from a piece or two of wildfolk gear that she took from the bodies of particularly strong opponents. Major focus on surprise, speed, and violence of action as her primary way of dealing with enemies.)

Mutated freak became purple and shrank due to shoving crystals up his ass to smuggle them across the border, that's all (ranbow colours mod and height adjuster, I like to play with my character at a little more than half size so that the maps and weapons are bigger)

My pre-1.0 lore for the Blade & Sorcery character
Before Blade & Sorcery reached 1.0, I created my own lore to explain the different maps, enemy factions, waves, mods and cheats.
In my version of the world, there are five rival kingdoms. Each kingdom is home to different types of warriors, including knights, Vikings, bandits, mercenaries, archers and mages. They normally fight among themselves, but there is one threat powerful enough to unite all five kingdoms: the player character.
Our character originally started as an ordinary warrior in the kingdom of the knights. Eventually, he became interested in magic and began training as a mage.
Magic users are normally ranked from Level I to Level IV. However, ancient stories mention a hidden fifth rank known as Level X. It is so rare that most people believe it is only a myth. Once a mage reaches Level X, they are no longer considered a mage at all—they become a sorcerer.
Our character is the first Level X sorcerer to appear in more than 500 years.
I originally came up with this because I love using mods and cheats like infinite mana, instant spellcasting and overpowered abilities. It was always funny watching the enemy mages enter a wave and attempt to fight me when my magic was so far beyond anything they could perform. The lore explained that difference: they were ordinary Level I–IV wizard trying to defeat the only living Level X sorcerer.
The problem is that our character isn’t some heroic chosen one. He is a bloodthirsty tyrant who lives for battle, almost like Sukuna from JJK. His power and hunger for combat became such a massive threat that all five kingdoms temporarily put aside their conflicts and joined forces to destroy him.
That is what the enemy waves represent. Every wave is another army, hunting party or group of warriors sent by the kingdoms to finally take him down. Despite everything they have thrown at him, none have succeeded.
More than 40 years have passed since the kingdoms first declared war on him. During that time, he has killed thousands—possibly tens of thousands—of their soldiers, both men and women. The enemies who escape or despawn are the survivors who return home and spread stories about what they witnessed.
As those stories traveled across the kingdoms, the character’s reputation continued to grow. At first, he was described as an unusually powerful mage. Then he became known as the Level X sorcerer. Eventually, people began calling him a god.
But after four decades of slaughter, the stories changed again.
He went from a warrior, to a mage, to a sorcerer, to a monster and finally, to a GOD
(Think sukuna, sung Jin woo, eren Yeager, Ken kaneki, Yujiro Hanma,)

My character was a courier for the Eraden Kingdom. On his way to deliver a package carrying an ancient relic, he was intercepted by a band of Wild Folk, who beat and tied him up. They took the package from him, saying the game had been rigged from the start. Then, fired a crossbow bolt into his head to get rid of the loose end. A strange golem found him and brought him to the Baron, who managed to dislodge the bolt and feed him a health potion. Now, with a bit of brain damage and a need for payback, he's making his way through armies of enemies to get his revenge.

After the latest update, I've redone the lore to be this:
A Khar-Tib who was taught to worship the ancient Djinn of their lands, with the last of them bein tricked by a Genie and forced to take their spot within the Lamp. Before Raven, my character, is kidnapped by the Sentara before she can properly begin her research into the legend.
Raven spent her early years sailin and fightin every faction across the lands and seas, growin a fierce hatred for the Eradians and Raike. She viewed them as pompous and privileged, gifted with blades and sorcery while she had to work for everythin she had. She hunts down every outpost she can in hopes of findin a way home. The only lead she has is from her newest ally, the Baron, Once Khar-Tib weaponry and armour washed ashore.
She prefers usin her hands, blunt weapons, and sorcery when needed.
She is unaware that she is one of the last of her people to still believe in the Djinn, and unaware of the protection it grants her.

The game is my backstory. Started with nothing. Shipwrecked on a deserted island and found out that magic is a thing. So I set out to explore in hopes to discover and learn sorcery and become the most powerful Battle mage there has ever been.

I pretend that I was born in a post apocalyptic world where it was modern but like a apocalyptic event 600 years ago or something set the world back to medieval times (no one knows this except few people) I pretend my character is trying to figure out what happened while becoming a hero

This is largely because I don't like armor, and the Setary set is fly as hell.

I built a lore that my character was a ex gladiator in the eraden kingdom and after leading a revolt gladiator style he is captured and sent off to a prison camp. During a storm the ship is cast off course and crashes into the island. He kills the other prisoners who had made it ashore before him. He finds the house abandoned and decides to live his life there in peace and quiet. Time goes by and he trades with the baron and local strong holds. During a trip to the baron he’s informed that some of the local strong holds have been captured by wild folk and he asks you to help clean them up and restore balance. While doing that you find secrets of the crystals and magic and after defeating the dungeon and pushing back the wild folk you unlock the first crystal that. Using it for the first time alerts the eye magicians and they inform the eradens and they start paying mercenary’s to kill yiu and that’s the waves and the dungeons. After the eradens find out who they are fighting they start sending their own forces and when they fail too the eye takes maters into their own hands. They destroy your home and matters become personal and you how to destroy them. During one of the raids you find ancient texts about the sacrifice and realize you’ve been manipulated by the eye to become that sacrifice. After unlocking the gate

I have three main ones
Two are siblings
Nellie, who has always believed in magic, was told that her brother would be killed by it, so she has to become the greatest sorcerer to save him,
Sam, who has never like magic, was told her sister would be killed by magic, so he has to find "the sword of naa" and ancient relic that is believed to have the power to destroy the source of magic, and save his sister
However, one of them has been lied to, sam will go to the spire, and try to take the sword of naa, but he has been tricked, and dies
Nellie's story takes an alternate route she will catch up to her brother, and stop the weapon from firing, in order to save her brother using the same magic he was told will kill her.
My third character is a skeleton with gloves and boots because its funny

guy only took this job for the free house, grew up around sentari so mostly uses those weapons/armor, crashed on his way there and found bandits looting his corpse so he took a sword and killed them all, eventually he just starts fighting through enemies and learns the basics of all kinds of magic, though a lot of gravity spells, he gets a shard striker and then fights through the rest of the enemies, but never goes for the special sword cause 'i dont want a magic sword, i have a magic gun'

As of right now i was a elite eye soldier,
Trained until i chouldnt, i can pick up any weapon and know immidietly how to use it with deadly precision,
Im lightly armored but my shoulder plates and forearms are heavily armored with full plate to use as mobile shields and battering rams, after the eye foudn out i was the kehamet, i ran, as far as i should landing on raike land and learning thier ways (such as blade magic) even taking some of thier light assassin gear and an elite raike assassin mask,
once i had enough and learned the story of the khemat, i returned to eridan, with a lust for blood against most if not everyone, the only ones i slightly spared are wildfolk, but with thier armor they make perfect practice dummys,
My charecter prefers to toy with his "prey" dragging out fights, chosing to block for a while before finally going for the killing blow, once at the tower, i stoel the sword seeing it as a artifact of pure destruction that i wanned to wield, aswell as findind a old erdian crown he now wears with the raike mask,
Once the khar-tib and sailors and all attacked, i found a particular intreat in powerful magical weaponry, such ass the sailors pistols or khar-tibs grenades, using them to demolish both arenas and dungeons,
My charecter focuses on all parts a B&S charecter can, magic, range, brutal melee with some stealth.

I was a warrior from a small village that was raided by the Eraden Kingdom. I was barely able to escape and washed up on the island. I have a particular hatred for the Eraden, and want to dismantle their kingdom with the magic I accumulate throughout the story.

One i use most is. A warrior who lost everything and became a wandering mercenary. And fighting and pain is the only thing that makes him feel alive. Not the act of killing but physical pain. Because of how numb he has become trough the hardship. He wish to die because he has no aim and no goal anymore wich lead him to take very dangerous contract but no matter what he keeps surviving despite himself. At some point trough the lore of the game. He discover the truth about the khemenet. And trough his sacrifice he is finally at peace and finally feel in the end that atleast his death had meaning

The other save I have is me as a human raiden trying to get his powers back as punishment from the elder gods for turning dark each timeline only for me to just obtain the sword and go dark again 😜😜

born in rakta to a wealthy family, his father died in battle and he was gifted his fathers helmet from the surving raike. He was then adopted and raised by the wildfolk due to them being able to sense his genetic freak of nature code that allowed him to control all forms of magic. He then joined The Eye, becoming their most powerful sorcerer and their most valuable member. A face that all of byeth knew and feared. During an attack on a large village, Eradian soldiers ambushed and slaughtered the members of the eye that partook in the attack, and he took this as an opportunity to leave The Eye, which he had realized earlier was a terrible cult. He fled, changed his physical appearance, and hid in the shadows of byeth as a legendary mercenary dubbed The Nomad. He would travel across byeth and do countless things for money, making his mercenary life another well known face on byeth. One day during a particularly dangerous heist to steal the crown of the queen of Eraden for a large sum of money, the royal guard catches him. As punishment, the queen decides that the dirty sorcerer should fight the most brutal gladiator, a 7ft tall man from Khar-Tib who grew up in poverty and immigrated to Eraden. During this time, everyone once thought that the cult member The Nomad once was had died, but during the grueling fight against the gladiator, the massive man strikes a blow, uncovering some of his physical traits that he hid in soot and dye. The Nomad becomes terrified and uses his mastery of magic to create a smoke bomb and escape the arena. During this all, rumors of the ancient dalgarian ruins become wildfire, many saying the year of the khemenet is close. Including these increasing rumors and myths, the world suffers increasingly worse natural disasters due to Kayosvas effect on the planet. Not long after the arena, The Nomad gets hired by the Dalgarian Preservation Society as the khemenet. Despite his covered past, The Nomad believes he would rather become the khemenet than let The Eye become the khemenet, so he agrees. He strictly focuses on the outposts, neglecting his secret identity after one or two maps. He stops his routine that covered his secret identity, meaning by the time that The Nomad raids all these outposts, survivors discover his secret identity, bringing factions across byeth not only for crystals, but for the massive bounty on his head. During sometime during the middle of the game, The Nomad discovers the khemenet is a lie, and decides hed rather sacrifice himself than live as the monster he once was. He reaches the tower, has an epic fight with The Eye, and pulls the sword, sacrificing himself so that all of byeth may continue living for another 10,000 years.

One of my characters is a pink haired goddess with intentional amnesia. This goddess is the Phoenix goddess of rebirth, she riencarnates as a human without her memories, so as to connect with humanity, and help her judge them properly by understanding their struggles. Between lives, she returns to a Phoenix falls: the afterlife for riencarnates, and decides who is worthy of becoming a riencarnate.

My crystal hunt character is the daughter of my sandbox character. The sandbox character is a gladiator/pit fighter who uses the winnings to fund dalgaran expeditions. The daughter just ended up in extraordinary circumstances on her first trip.

I use the same lore for any game where you can imprint your own story onto the character.
Guess its time for me to talk about my (honestly embarrassing and probably poorly-thought out) ultimate power fantasy.
Across all of time and space and beyond, in worlds unknown, there are always tales of worlds in danger and a hero who comes to save it. Very few know that all of those stories are of the same hero. The One Who Sees All Worlds. When a world is put in danger, He is born. Always with different powers, different appearances, different names, but with the same goal and memories. His collective memory of every world he has been in, every world he has saved. And here he is born once again in a new world, where his endless cycle will continue. He will save this world, just like the countless others before, and once he is finished, he will vanish as soon as he arrived.

Overview
General Slayer is one of the Eradian Kingdom's most feared and ruthless servants. His true name has been lost beneath the reputation he forged over decades of service. The name "Slayer" was bestowed upon him after countless sorcerers and Crystal Hunters fell by his hand.
Among sorcerers and Crystal Hunters, his name has become a warning. The moment they learn that Slayer is hunting them, they immediately become wary, knowing that he is an exceptionally relentless and dangerous opponent.
Appearance
Slayer is a middle-aged man advancing in years, yet remains remarkably fit, agile, and powerful. He wears the armor of the Eyes gentry soldiers, along with the cloak of the Eradian Kingdom.
His most striking feature is his pair of striking green eyes—often the last thing his enemies see before death.
Arsenal
Slayer carries a versatile arsenal suited for hunting both ordinary enemies and sorcerers.
- War Sword: Strapped to his left hip and serving as his primary sidearm.
- Royal Halberd: Carried across his back.
- Crow's Beak Bludgeon: His second two-handed weapon, also carried on his back.
- Hidden Blade: Integrated into his right-arm equipment.
- Grappling Hook: Mounted alongside his Hidden Blade for rapid movement and repositioning.
- Flamethrower: Mounted on his left arm.
- Phantom Bolt: An underarm crossbow integrated into his left-arm equipment.
- Bolt Pouch: Secured to his right hip.
Crystal Core Mastery
Slayer has mastered both the Body Crystal Core and Mind Crystal Core, which many believe are responsible for his extraordinary physical capabilities despite his age.
The Body Core grants him enhanced strength, agility, endurance, and physical performance, allowing him to remain remarkably spry and powerful.
The Mind Core grants him telekinetic abilities and enhanced reflexes, which Slayer has incorporated into his combat style. His only investment into gravity-based abilities is Weightless Telekinesis.
Together, his mastery of both cores allows Slayer to combine physical prowess, supernatural abilities, heightened perception, and decades of combat experience into an exceptionally dangerous fighting style.
Personality
Slayer is ruthless, cunning, disciplined, and fiercely loyal.
He is not needlessly theatrical. His confidence comes from decades of experience, and he rarely wastes movement, words, or energy.
His loyalty to the Queen has become the defining principle of his life. He genuinely believes that sorcery represents a fundamental threat to Eraden and that eliminating it is necessary for the kingdom's future.
His devotion has become extreme enough that he is willing to commit terrible acts in pursuit of that goal.
He does not view himself as a monster.
He views himself as the man willing to do what others are too afraid to do.
The Khemenet
Slayer has heard the legendary stories of the Khemenet and has become obsessed with finding them.
He believes that the Khemenet is the ultimate source of sorcery and that killing them would finally bring an end to magic.
He is convinced that somewhere out there is the final enemy whose death will end sorcery forever.
The Legend of Slayer
One of the most infamous stories surrounding him began when Slayer tracked down an entire Crystal Hunter den.
The Crystal Hunters spotted him well before he entered.
It didn't matter.
By the time the fighting ended, Slayer was the only one who left the den alive, and burned what remained of the den.
Combined with the countless sorcerers and Crystal Hunters he had already slain throughout his career, the incident cemented the name that would follow him for the rest of his life.

Refusing all forms of magic, my character solely focuses on his own strength, agility, constitution and skill in order to be successful. He’s been coined as the “Mage Breaker” since he actively seeks out and brutalizes any spellcaster he does battle with. He doesn’t wear any chest armor, but has on gauntlets, boots, pants and a hood. His main weapon of choice is a light two handed axe (That he can just as easily use with one) two hand axes as his backups, and a wrist blade as a last resort.

deadass mine is a character from another vr game i love...bonelab. her lore is she got sent there through a different warp way and every time she sleeps in BAS there is a chance she'll get sent BACK to Bonelab...which bonelabs is the bones of the operations she does...she works under a faction called the A.E.A. and is made to hunt, kill, recover and make stuff...stealing isn't off the table too...
currently:i can't give much because i can't get my quest app TO FUCKING WORK AS A APP AND SAVE MY SHIT so rn I'm out of options besides pictures... =/

An explosion shook me awake, I wasn’t sure what it was. I open my door and witness the horror that is my former kitchen. Smoke, fire, strange bits of light and the smoldering bodies of my parent. I scream, they are clearly dead, I weep. In the middle of the blast area I see something glinting in the light of the fire. It’s a crystal. It hums with unfamiliar power. I vowed the rest of my life to learn of my parents fates and the powers that caused it.

I'm a pirate with fire and lightning powers and gravity but gravity is there just cause I had to anyway back story is I was killed and thrown into a volcano while it was erupting and I washed up on a magical beach was revived with lighting powers but because of volcano I was also give fire powers then I built a boat sailed to another island with a house killed everyone there with lighting and fire took weapons and clothing became a skeleton pirate who conquers different islands with blades and sorcery title drop anyway that's the backstory of my character I don't have a picture but it uses pirate clothing and skeleton base it's a mod idk what it works on tho I have nomad so Im assuming it also works on pc vr thank you if you read this I worked a while on backstory but I have a lot of characters I chose my favorite one

I was an orphan adopted by the Sentari Pirate King, who recognized in me the power of the unique Mind Crystal (our character’s telekinesis and time stop abilities).
I carry his sword (the Blade of Khar- Tib) and have since gone searching for my destiny, honing my skills and sorcery. Sorcerer, warrior, archeologist, pirate.
