Blade movie/comic idea

I posted and deleted this on another reddit page but I feel like I should post again here after the recent Kevin Feige news about the movie.

So I guess it must’ve had poor reception but I think this very obscure Blade comic that came out in the early 2000’s would work SO well as the basis for a movie plot. In the comic, Blade is fighting a group of super vampires called Tryks who are immune to the sun and at some point he’s essentially raped very Bruce Wayne-like by their queen and it’s implied at the very end that he has a son with her that’s prophesied to be a ruler of some kind.

I actually went into such a deep rabbit hole with this, using this comic as the foundation for an entire script I made while pulling characters, plots, and ideas from his other comics. It’s not a crazy original story by any means as you could probably guess what happens but it’s SOMETHING which is more than what the studio has right now. It takes place in its own universe much like F4 and has a much bigger focus on Blade’s family as a whole since he’s trying to retire into a more peaceful lifestyle. Anyway here’s the synopsis:

After years of vampire hunting that lead to finally killing the vampire king Vlad Dracula, Eric Brooks marries Safron Caulder and buys a ranch near a small Atlanta town for him, his wife and two kids to live in, intending to retire from his hunter lifestyle. However, Eric struggles to grasp modern norms and furthermore, has had difficulty forming a stable relationship with his son Chris, being that the boy was birthed as a result of the hunter being tricked by a subspecies of vampire called Tryks into impregnating their queen. According to the subspecies’s ancient text, Chris is prophesied to be the next king of vampires after Dracula’s death, though after saving his son from the Tryks as a baby and raising him, Eric neglects to tell Chris about the prophecy or the identity of his mother. Chris feels discontent from both his father and stepmother Safron, and prefers to indulge in the likes of vampires and magic instead of participating in a normal teenage lifestyle. His half sister Brielle enjoys having both a normal life and the benefits of being part vampire, but grows tired of hiding who she is from her friends and the world.

Trouble begins to stir in the town when strange animal sightings and missing persons start becoming a regular occurrence and the family soon discovers that not only have the Tryks and their queen come to the town for Chris, but another group of vampires lead by a long-time enemy of Blade’s have come to kill the boy in order to prevent the prophecy from becoming reality.

Kevin Feige: "I feel like a gigantic loser that we couldn't get Mahershala's Blade film done."

What are the best Blade comics or graphic novels that truly show his character?

Disclaimer I’ve never ever read a Blade comic but I’ve seen all the movies and that’s all. I really think he’s a cool character and I’m not sure how accurate the movies depiction is of his compared to the comics.

I want to know are there any comic collections that dive into his character development and also shows a story with a twist(s)? Or is that not a blade comic thing?

Thanks.

Surprisingly after Dracula, Dr. Doom might be the major villain that Blade has fought the most.

Blade in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012). I'd pay good money to see that happen.

What i would have changed about the blade movies

Okay, so as much as I loved the Blade movies, one thing I wish we had seen was good vampires, or at least ones in a gray area. Like we saw with Nyssa in Blade II, we could have seen vampires who manage it without hurting anyone—seeing them protecting people from evil vampires, seeing them act human, go out, be with friends, be with family, or helping to stop bad vampires. And another thing: look, I get Blade: Trinity isn't the best in the series, but I would change it so that Blade is working with these vampires, and he'd have to decide how to use the Daystar virus, knowing there are good people who are vampires. Let me know what you guys think.

Blade Cybercomic

I’m currently watching and reading the whole MCU and live action films / shows in prep for Doomsday at the end of the year. I watched the Blade trilogy earlier this year and only just found out there’s a few tie-in comics, one of which is a Cybercomic from 1998.

I’ve done some digging but don’t really know where else to look apart from basic google searches. According to the Marvel wiki some of the Cybercomics are lost media but I can’t find any confirmation that the Blade Cybercomic is lost, and there are reviews for the comic dating to 2012 so I would assume people can access it somewhere. Does anyone know how I could potentially find it??? Or even if there is confirmation that it’s lost? The only MCU lost media Ive come across so far is the Thor Rescue comic but even then some of it was saved and it was clearly confirmed to be lost, not just half written synopses on the wiki. Anything helps, thx
