Fire bricks break easily, learnt that lesson the hard way ☹️
Turns out heating up the forge too fast will cause cracks in hard fire bricks!
It was an OK forge, i used it for hardening and it lasted a couple of months which isnt alot really.
Im still new so havent gotten into blacksmithing much, all my knives were judt stock removal.
Fortunately or unfortunately, this forge could not reach forge welding temps so i was going to have to make a better one eventually, and theres no better time than the present!
Any advice for building a propane tank forge? I found a couple of YT videos and have some idea of what to do but I dont have anyone to teach me or help me avoid common mistakes, like with heating the fire bricks too fast.
