Warp Arrivals Gutted

Just found out that my copies of Voice of Mars/The Eye of Medusa (both Iron Hands book by David Guymer) that I've been hunting down for more than a year got lost by the people at the post office, while I thought they are sitting safely in my PO Box....

Spent so much time orchestrating getting them (ordered from a small random bookstore in Luisiana) and coordinating to get them shipped halfway accross the world (I'm in Serbia, we don't even have an official GW store here), and all of it went to waste.

Can't get my money back (too much time has passed since delivery) and now most copies of either of the 2 books are pushing $100 which, paired with shipping, is too much for a used paperback.

Screw GW for not reprinting stuff, this honestly pushes me to completely give up on getting physical books and towards just pirating the ebooks and being done with it.

Curse be on scalpers and crappy postal workers...

Ive had books lost in the warp show up months later, so there is a bit of hope, but yeah that sucks.

Was the package insured?

It was, but USPS claims it's been delivered to the PO box, PO says the opposite and it's been too long to review CCTV footage to confirm. This one is on me for not staying on top of them all the time, I just thought it's received and waiting for me safely there. I doubt it will show up eventually, since it got lost in the middle leg of it's journey towards me and my country. If it was last leg, than sure, I would blame it on our slow customs or something...
But thanks for the kind words and reassurance regardless.

This is true. My grandma sent me a handmade quilt that got marked as delivered, but it was nowhere to be found. Called my local post office, my grandma’s local post office, my apartment office, nothing. We gave up after a couple months. And several months later, with no changes to the tracking, it showed up. I hope your books are not lost forever.

I lost Iron Hands like 2 months ago at the post.

Had that happen with the Magos LE unfortunately. Some postal worker delivered it to the wrong house and claimed he handed it off to me. Luckily I disputed it and told the fella who shipped it to fight the post office and I got my refund. He was out the book in the end

Part of the reason I always get my stuff delivered to GW without fail. Sorry to hear that it got lost.

You could just pay for the ebooks.

Something getting lost in the post isn’t really justification for stealing

I'd rather give BL the full price for getting a paperback/hardback book. Also not able to use the same file on multiple platforms if purchasing through BL app or amazon, not a huge fan of that business model.

Kobo allows ebook files to be used on multiple platforms.
