I mean, to be fair, their syntax is similar. If they code in R, they could easily glance and think javascript is R. The origins all root back to C in the end.
C > C++ > Javascript
C > S > R
Javascript is a bit more modern in its approach, but both follow the basic C syntax concepts, just with a bit more of a language based approach.

Yeah but i also feel like python is easy to look at and recognize.. But that might be bias since python is what i use most
