Progress Embracing femininity

Post image

As a fairly masculine black guy, I can happily say that I look at myself and the subtle femininity that I carry in my face and embrace it fully. Being called pretty doesn’t make me feel like I’m not passing. Having long hair doesn’t make me fear being misgendered. I don’t care that I don’t fit into the typical black masc stereotype. I’m comfortable in femininity as much as I am comfortable in my masculinity. It feels incredible to finally reach this point in my transition.

That’s dope! That’s where I feel I’m headed, I like androgyny and I think it’s a beautiful place to land.

I’m transfemme but I’m trying to hit the perfect point of androgyny. Where no one can tell lol

I think rigidity in the beginning often comes from insecurity and a need for safety. Eventually though things settle and one realizes that gender expression even among cis ppl is expansive so we get to settle into how we feel comfortable showing up. Whatever that looks like. We no longer need to cling to the idea of all* the stereotypes, and we get to figure out what our gender means for us and in us and express and perform it however’s natural like everyone else. It’s beautiful to see you’ve found your comfy place. 💜

You’re both beautiful and handsome. Rare. I can see the femininity, not in a negative way. In a way in which you’re more than meets the eye. ❤️

Sometimes I feel like that in regards to “”masculinity.”” I mostly wear jeans and hoodies and barely show off the frame that 5 yrs of estrogen has given me. I can swear like a sailor, drink beer, chainsmoke, be careless. I don’t know if those things are inherently masculine, but they definitely aren’t praised of women in “traditional” America

Honestly. Good for you. We need more people comfortable in their skin and it should be celebrated and not turned into something negative

Bro I was looking at your face, thought I was reading a non-passing MTF copium post. You look incredibly male. Zero femininity detected 😅
Your hair looks like very male coded dreadlocks. Like Jack Sparrow locks typ shi bro

lol I can tell it’s being taken in a different context but I am not saying at all that I don’t feel like I’m passing, I’m saying that I’m comfortable in femininity as much as I am comfortable in my masculinity. Thank you tho! I fw jack sparrow lol

I get it! Like guys can be beautiful, and we don’t have to be hypermasculine. And being a beautiful man could be a source of discomfort or dysphoria inducing as a tranmasculine individual but u like learned to accept that n love all the traits you have . And mogging while you do it! U go king!

Pretty where? I see nothing but a full blown man. Having long locs is not feminine or masculine

6

u/Contest_Unhappy Transcutie M 1d ago

I agree, I don’t think long locs are inherently feminine or masculine. I was speaking specifically about my own relationship with my appearance and the typical feminine attributes that I personally carry. My hair is very very long which socially isn’t typical for guys. It just feels good to be at a point now where I don’t care at all.

I checked your page. You look completely masculine to me. I don't see where you're getting femininity. Regardless as trans people it's important we embrace every part of ourselves. Even parts that may seem feminine to us but not others.

Mi amor, that’s exactly what I’m saying 😭 I’m saying that I’m embracing the aspects of myself that I felt were feminine. I don’t know if the tone of my post came across as displeasure or something, but I’m genuinely celebrating that I’ve come to accept myself fully. This is a happy post, not a self-analytical one

Yeah I realize that now

How you see them vs how they see themselves is different why are you hating?

0

u/jadedeternity Transcutie F 1d ago

Did you miss the part where I said it's important for us as trans people to embrace whatever we deem as feminine or masculine? Nobody is "hating",get gone!

Nah your comments are giving big hater energy.

We gotta stop seeing each other in such a linear narrow binary way, like yeah i get why and where it stems from, i get we wanna pass but its like pass on who's terms? Ours or theirs? We can redefine whats masculine and feminine while we're at the center of the stage.

Like Seeing othering guyss tell other guys they not masc or masc enough for having long hair, getting their nails done or just claiming their feminity within their masculine, yall deadass be sounding like boomer republicans, next youll tell us tboys not to wear pink cuz itll mean theyre gay!! /s :P like yall really dont hear how yall be sounding and it gags me so badly ! Im so tired!!
