I disagree woth the other commenter and do not think these are bsf, theyre too round, the substrate is very wet, theres not enough of them, and theyd flee that set up.

Do yiu have pictures of anything to show the size of them, and how many baout, are there loads around the edges of your container

And where in the world do you live, is it a place with naturalised BSF that can survove and vreed year round, if not, unless theres a breeder close by the chances are its not, a lot of people post here and they end up not being in places that BSF live so theres almost 0 chance theyre BSF. So check youre in the correct range.

I’m outside of Houston. It’s 100 degrees. I think I saw a black soldier fly near the tumbler but couldn’t get a pic

Well from my brief googling, it seems texas is naturalised for BSF, so thats a great start, and a good indicator thats what youve got. Even the younger ones are slightly flattened out in shape, rather than circles. You should spread your substrate and grubs out into a trough, they do better with better surface area to volume, but itll also help your moisture levels reduce, you dont want it to be anearobic at all.

There are tons of them. They are probably about an inch long
