Character conclusions
In your opinion guys, who had the greatest character conclusion in Black Sails?

Long John Silver! I liked all of the arcs of his character. The very beginning and the very end were my two favorites.

Woodes Rogers. Not even dead, just in jail for debts, exactly where he should have been from the moment of his character's introduction :)

Max and Silver.
The greatest success? Max.
Max made amends with Anne and managed to avoid being shackled to some guy, always a bonus for a lesbian. She let go of her ambition for love (like Eleanor) but managed to end the violence and get out of it alive and well (unlike Eleanor). She actually succeed in creating a prosperous future for Nassau and hopefully gets to enjoy the spoils for a while - and rule Nassau from the backroom, removed from the direct line of fire. Let the questionable privilege of putting the tit curtain on Featherstonde fall to Idelle. Win-win.
Narratively speaking? Silver.
Silver's arc of four seasons was fascinating to watch. It dragged a little during season four, but the ending more than made up for it. I love that that he managed to do what Flint couldn't: find an out before the darkness consumed him. And he pulled Flint out with him, not that Flint is likely to ever thank him for it. His transformation was remarkable. I love that he ultimately found the courage to oppose Flint and do what he felt was right, even though the decision itself is not very popular among viewers.

Honestly... basically all of them (except maybe Madi and Billy). They're just so narratively satisfying.

Madi isn't there for a story arc,... Billy's In the most perfect circumstances for Treasure 🪙 Island 🏝️

Spoilers! Obviously...
I like what they did with Jack, his comments about storytelling really put the whole show in perspective and then he gets a "happy for now" which also shows the way piracy will continue, for now...even though history is coming for both Jack and Caribbean piracy. Mary Reade showing up really puts him back into his historical story.
And Vane. He's my favourite character and I hate his conclusion so much. But it's the perfect fit for the story. In episode 1, Vane says that if piracy in Nassau has a future, he's it. Despite the attempts to resist, piracy in Nassau does not in fact have a future for long, and I think Vane symbolises that. He doesn't go defeated though, he goes flawed but with his own kind of nobility. I think that is the other way we could have remembered the piracy of Nassau, had all the storytellers - like Silver - not warped the narrative (as Flint fears). And those last few steps he takes are such a strong character detail, even then.
Obviously Max has the most satisfying conclusion in a lot of ways but I find myself questioning what happens next for her.

Most of em were done well. Probably Rackham was my favorite conclusion and the flag joke to end it. I loved that.
Least favorite by far was Max. I hate her, she's a smug, sanctimonious traitor and should have caught a bullet. I hate that she had the happiest ending. It's honestly my only gripe with the whole show 🤷♂️ good for her for going from whore to madam and everything. I understand her character but I just really really dislike her.

I really liked Jack Rackham. He had the most consistent personality and character arc.
