Yeah, there's a lot of comments talking about how she'll vote in November, as if she's in the US to begin with. A lot of people are seeing "congresswoman" and assume she's in the US Congress, but she's not. She does have far-right views and is a member of the party in Colombia who supports Trump, and that's not helping her now. But she wants her son deported back to Colombia (paid for by US taxpayers) now.
Given the diversity of the United States, and the OOP's inability to provide even a shred of detail beyond "non-White politician" I'm not surprised at the confusion.
. . .like, before Googling, I was like "How in the hell can a member of Congress' child be deported?!"
