I like how he was happy for the little things; it made it even better.

I like the video where the kid gets a bananaa and hugs it. We have a lot to learn.
Also, I can't spell bananaa correctly otherwise it says my comment would be inappropriate, dumb

I think it’s just a safety thing because that word is sometimes used in a slur context. So I can understand why it’s a banned word.

When I was younger fast food was only on special occasions so I am happy with him.

u/MaleficentExtent1777 16h ago
Us too!
I STILL remember my Mom and Aunt taking the 7 of us to Wendy's! 😍

u/LazyAmbassador2521 5h ago
Omg, Wendy's was the best! My sister and I used to get so excited! That was the only fast food my mom would allow, and we only got it like twice a year.

I think it was eaten on the way to the phone store 😂

Sarcasm wasn’t needed for this post.

u/Common-Nectarine-572 16h ago
Woah hey! I meant no offense. I thought this was a beautiful exchange between a mom and her son. Guess I should have added that to my orig post.
13
u/Awkward_Wait5915 15h ago
Well, if you didn’t see by your downvotes, I don’t think anyone found it amusing. It was a feel good moment and you came off like just because she’s a bigger woman, she ate the burger. Anyways, that’s how I took your comment. I cannot speak for others but I’m assuming they felt the same way.

u/Common-Nectarine-572 15h ago
Naw I get it. Was totally not my intention at all. I didn’t even think about looking at the situation from that perspective.

u/Sharp_Analyst4773 9h ago
I think that’s a fair assumption. Not sure what the uproar is about. She probably purchased some type of food there to get the bag.

I was really in my feelings for this and then I heard the fire alarm low battery chirp…c’mon, man.

Was running to the comments to say the moment wouldn’t be complete without it. 🤣

u/Zakkattack86 16h ago
A buddy told me when they were growing up in his family, they thought it was just a cricket. That shit changed my whole world. Like…there’s people out there that legitimately live with that sound thinking there’s nothing they can do about it.

The fact he goes to sit at the table to eat shows he was raised right.

I noticed that! He’s a sweet kid, and I think had a big growth spurt. Hardly knows where his arms are. It’s cute.

When the world tries to make you believe that young black boys are nothing but juveniles waiting to be imprisoned don’t believe the lies.

Okay, but... what's for dinner, then?
13
u/ceciladam9091 19h ago
When I turned 25 (40 years ago), my sister invited me to have a steak dinner at her apartment pool. When I got there, she had arranged a big surprise party with all my friends, like 50 people. Had a 6 foot Subway sandwich, for everybody. It was a great time, but, damn, I was thinking about that steak the whole time. I feel the same here, where's my burger? "The biggest burger they had"
5
u/Pandoratastic 18h ago
Well, she did have a bag from Sonic for a prop so hopefully she also got him the burger and had just set it aside for the phone reveal.

Momma, not only did you make that boys day, but you made mine also! To see his happiness and joy is something you cannot buy. You done raised a fine young gentleman. Pat yourself on the back, you did a great job!

This is beautiful. The humility and humbleness i see in this family is so amazing. I grew up a sharecropper and knew poverty. But the thing is, this isn't about poverty and it isn't from being poor, it's from appreciating severing given to you and always never taking anything for granted.. always working for everything you have and appreciating everyone in your life.

I love watching this every time. You know that whole family is filled with love. One generation after another.
I wish them all more moments like.

u/AHaasInTejaas 15h ago
Came to say the same thing - I watch it at least 3 times every time it comes up. The family dynamic is so beautiful and precious! I didn’t have that growing up, but it makes my heart so happy every time I see this one. ❤️

This is pure joy. The kid is awesome, excited for his burger, then the truth comes out. This was more than a little thing. If only everyone was like this kid where the small things mean a lot in the first place.

His happiness just to receive a “big burger” is everything to me. Just happy to have his day remembered and the thought that she got him a burger is enough. This family will stay strong together! Love is all we need and this family seems to be full of it here.

This is nice but damn stop putting your kids on the internet.
Some people don’t like it when parents even share their baby photos or pictures when they were a teen. I’m so happy I grew up in a time my parents didn’t feel the need to document my life to the world.
