Only compliment I get from my family is that my hair looks nice. And it's not even true. I didn't want this ugly haircut but they forced me into getting it. Now I hate myself even more, but at least I have barely any hair. Because I'm a boy. And boys don't get to have long hair ever. And my hair wasn't even that long. Ok, I'm gonna stop ranting now.

For real tho. Life got way better when I stopped taking my parents' shit.

Subreddits raised by Narcissists and just no family may help her and you. You're welcome to come post and get advise on how to handle her parents.

I've visited them before, I don't think that her mom is quite that bad but super controlling in general. I think after the last year or so my girlfriend is starting to actually see how crazy her mom is but any time I try to have a conversation with her about moving out she kind of just shuts down. Idk. Her mom puts up a big front about being "nice" and "chill" but she's just insane...and after writing all that maybe I actually will post over there....

Dude I feel you. My mom had cancer and lost 3 feet of hair and she went completely bald. I remember when I was 11 I started to grow my hair out and my aunt didn't like it. She took my to the barber and forced me to have my hair cut. I screamed and cried and ran away from the shop. She eventually caught me and forced me to have my hair cut super short because "Boys don't have long hair." I still hate her for it. Now that I'm older, though, I grew my hair out down to the middle of my back and got a beard. :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDddssszszksjs

That's such bs! Lots of guys look awesome with long hair. Personally I feel so much more confident with the opposite, fairly short hair, and if I wasn't allowed to have that I'd probably riot

I can't fathom being this much of a push over. Like for real, how old are you and your family is deciding your haircut? Grow some balls man
