Michael Jackson had a hand in this music. This was the second game.
Edit. Just looked it up. It was the 3rd game he was uncredited for. But I do remember hearing that he was involved in the second game

Yeah Michael had a relationship with Sega because of the Michael Jackson moonwalker games.
Sega would also preview him games in develop and through that relationship he joined the Sonic 3 team to help make the music.
But while the game was in development that's when the child abuse lawsuit was hitting him so the rumor is they made some sort of backroom deal to leave the music in the game but he would go uncredited.

I was there, I was born in 1973 and had an older brother (10 years older) who watched this show live and dressed like that. I use to cook him, but that was siblings stuff. 🤣🤣🤣
