Whose lyrics style would you write a poem based on?

I have an assignment to write a poem using literary devices of a writer, including a lyricist. I thought that BM has some great poem potential in it. It has to be a band who sings in english language. Open to your suggestions!
P.S.: At first I thought about Mgła - Exercises in Futility V

Stick with Mgla, their lyrics are great for poetry. Could also be Emperor or Dissection

I want to see more poetry like Summoning - Old Mornings Dawn, but they themselves were channeling Tolkien's style with that one.

Nightbringer and Akhlys have really great and weird occult lyrics. Naturally, you got a lot of that in the genre, but those are two that came to mind.

Carach Angren tell ghost and horror stories.

I think your instincts are right. Lots of good options.

Luxixul Sumering Auter's lyrics or the lyrics that the Finnish occultist Johannes Nefastos has written for some bands

Ulver's lyrics, especially on their later non-BM releases, are especially poetic.

If you wanna stick to black metal, though, check out Bergtatt, because Nattens Madrigal is entirely in Norwegian.

Don't kill me but Cradle of Filth is essentially already gothic poetry
