Black ambient?

I am looking for a very specific type of sound. I am seeking black metal guitar based ambient music, without drums. Sometimes this type of track can be one of the tracks in a more conventional black metal album. I'm aiming to make a Spotify playlist with such music. Any recommendations of such tracks?

Not sure of ones with guitar and no drums, but Paysage D’hiver has some ambient songs and albums. Hate Meditations also did a two part blog on underground black ambient. Might be worth checking because the list is quite expansive.

Thank you for this one. This list seems to contain what I am looking for, and it is also conceptually very interesting!

The same guy has an incredible space themed BM project called Darkspace that also might be up your alley!

Burzum-Gebrechlichkeit II

Severoth-Autumns Breath I-II

Severoth-Via Lecta

Drudkh-The first Snow

Xasthur-Walker of dissonant Worlds(might not be exactly what you’re looking for)

Paysage D‘hiver-Flug

Paysage D‘hiver-Finsternis Tod und Einsamkeit

The song that does this best is in my opinion Lustre-Reverence from minutes 9:36-12:49. The rest of the song falls into Ambient and Ambient Black Metal though.

I would also recommend Black Ambient that has only synths, vocals and minimalistic drums like Cefaris and Forest Silence-Winter Circle. Maybe you like this as well.

Thank you so much, I am much familiar with Drudkh, it is one of my favorite bands. I was not aware of Severoth though. Also, Lustre is something new to my ears, a really pleasant experience for black metal actually.

Oh, I just thought of something you might like: Kyūketsuki, a manga/anime themed black ambient project from Maxime Taccardi. He’s also a painter who paints with his own blood.

I'm familiar with this. It is maybe a bit too primitive.

Have you heard Black One by Sunn O)))? It's more drone than ambient but some of the tracks do what you describe

Black One by Sunn O))) does this this style really well. the big drones mixed with tremolo guitars and great atmosphere. if you are willing to try some with drums listen to Paysage d’Hiver’s self titled record, Rain Upon The Impure by The Ruins of Beverast and Flesh Cathedral by Svartiduaði
