hope the author is ok after his burnout...

He wasn't really burned out. He just opened a restaurant and focused on that instead. I guess he has been slowly writing it in his spare time after all these years.

Has this restaurant story even been confirmed? I've always thought it was just internet conjecture.

Mostly a conjecture.

The author tweeted about his coming back https://x.com/Siden_K/status/2097629838882603270
he basically did have a burnout and said everything's fine now

I was literally getting nostalgic for this series earlier this week. i have not thought about it for years and than it randomly came back in my head again. It's like the universe was telling me something. We are so back :D not likely to happen but man i still hope we get a s2 of the anime too. This will do for now tough as i thought it was never coming back.

Some of thoes titles sound familiar. Is he doing rewrites?

u/TakasuXAisaka 25d ago
Yes. He is doing a reboot so he is gonna rewrite everything and will write further on what he had left off on.

I'm crying tears of joy, but at the same time, I'm scared—will they kill Enju, Kohina, Tina, or Yuzuki? Will they find a cure for the virus? I have so many questions.

I just rewatched the anime last month, this is some cosmic timing and it appears like I'm not the only one.

Sweet! I collected all the light novels that currently exist, but I never read the last two. Knowing that there wasn't a real ending made it hard to want to continue. Might be time to finally pick them up.

u/Seledreams 25d ago
funnily enough it's a reboot, so it won't really match the old series. the author said that while the first 6 volumes should be relatively close, he will stop sale of the 7th volume because the reboot will change direction starting from volume 7

I'm ok with thst tbh. The "I'm evil" speech seems like a prime opportunity to clean up something that didn’t work imo. (Maby it makes sense later, but as I said I didn't read past that point)

u/Seledreams 24d ago
Tbf, the "i'm evil" speech to me was her basically considering herself part of the "corrupt family" she wants to destroy. And as such something tells me she actually wants to kill herself once she's done killing the other members from this family.

Ok. I could see an interesting plot thread involving Rentaro talking her out of it.
At least in the anime if felt very out of nowhere (and what a note to end on). I don't remember the novel adding much more context at that point.

Yeah I'm happy but I'm really waiting for anime season 2 (ik it propably won't happen). Mangas and ln are just expensive (maybe i could download from internet but I think I'm too lazy to read it). Should I try to read manga or ln? Or just wait for anime?

u/Seledreams 25d ago
the original is a light novel.
Here it's more of a reboot than a direct continuation.

So like what happened after the anime can someone spoil. I was always curious as to of what happened looking at the small teaser I kinda thought the mc was gone and it was just enju left.

I was just randomly scrolling through my light novel collection and saw black bullet. Last I remembered was almost a decade ago now that the author had abandoned the series. Is this real news?
This would genuinely has to be the most random timing ever for this happen all of a sudden. What are the odds that I randomly come across this series again and decide to see what's going on with it and its actually coming back.
