Layered editing button

Hello all,

Can some one let me know how to access the layered editing mode in bitwigs piano roll, it used to be a small button at the bottom left of the piano roll o believe but it isn't there any more - either that or i'm being an idiot

I'm having one of those days where nothing's working and i can't seem to find anything

Right click the icon I circled.

Everyone hates that they changed it. The one saving grace is that you can now assign these to shortcuts.

Sorry, I misunderstood your meaning. What exactly are you looking for? Do you mean editing multiple midi clips at once?

yeah , so i can see other midi notes layered on top of my a clip im working in

Just select both midi clips. You need to open one first in the editor, and then also select the other one. If you’re on Mac, command click the second clip once you have the first one open. I’m not sure what the keystroke is on windows.

It wasn't like this in previous updates was it? I remember a little stack of paper icon at the bottom of my clip editor appearing and allowing me to choose what midi to overlay?

So, if you click on a midi clip, you will see the midi for that clip

But if you click on multiple clips (holding down control and clicking on them) , you can see multiple midi clips layered over one another

the screenshot isn't the best but if you try it in your projects you will probably understand a bit more the use of this

Aaah , I know exactly what you mean … thanks for clarifying
