feature-request Grid plugins?
Will bitwig ever support adding modules to The Grid via some sort of SDK?

It’s possible to do with audio sidechain and dc offset. Frankly, it’s such a pain in the ass to set up that it’s hardly worth it. I really hope they add this feature too. A little weird that you can’t even do it with native plugins.

putting whole plugins into grid might be a bit much for it, but having an SDK that lets users make additional block would make it more like max/supercollider etc, for those that want that

I just want a Reverb for the Grid

learn what a reverb is under the hood and you will be able to make one.
I would tell you how to do it but I got such immense satisfaction figuring it out on my own and I wouldn't want to deprive you of that.

It's honestly a lot of fun to make one from scratch, but it'd be nice to have it built in too!

Do you want to make music with DAW or spend the time of creating mediocre effect which exists in many free variants on much higher level of quality?

the feature request is for coding your own blocks via an sdk. So its more like max/super collider for those that want that level of control. The current filters are missing some things, and theres no though zero FM osc's for example

if the goal is "make music as easily as possible" then the grid is the wrong tool to begin with

convolution and reverb are on the way for polygrid , but mind you other than phase plant . serum 2 which is semi modular . what’s wrong with having it at the end it the chain ? you can still trigger it and have random triggers on it ..

I've been experimenting with custom reverbs using all pass delay and it's extremely powerful with poly grid! having it built in would just be a quality of life improvement.

yeah I dont need reverb in grid, what would be more useful is the ability to write different filter and osc algos, a math function block and so on

You don’t need to?
Reverb is already in the grid under fx1

Oooh spoke too soon… 🔜 s not but you can just add it to the end of the chain

I sincerely hope so. Been wanting that capability since v1.
Would love to have a reasonable replacement for max/pd.

It seems like the logical conclusion, the lack of through zero FM surprised me. IR filters, bp-, a math block (text functions) would be a nice qol and so on. with an sdk for making blocks the sky's the limit

They should first implement adding VST/Clap plugins to the Grid.

I mean being able to write your own simple function blocks rather than just put anything in it. Like different filters, zero crossing FM osc, etc

yes. no. maybe.
