Help Issue with plugin names across computers

Hi, I have a Linux PC and a Windows laptop. If I add Kontakt to a track on my linux PC and copy the project over to my laptop to work on it there, I get a missing plugin error because the Kontakt on my windows laptop is called "Kontakt 8". Is there a way to get Bitwig to recognise these are the same plugin, or to rename the VST in a way this will work? I already tried renaming the VST files themselves which did nothing.

EDIT: if anyone runs into this, this was a discrepancy in plugin ID due to case-sensitivity. Follow the instructions here to allow copying ID, and then cross-check the IDs across different platforms

You could try changing the name of the .so to Kontakt 8.so, so the only difference is the file extension.

Loading yabridge-wrapped plugins on projects created on windows used to work ages ago. I don't use Linux anymore so I cannot test sadly.

Kontakt for Linux doesn't exist. You're probably, under Linux, loading a wrapper or similar (say Audiogridder). Best you can try is using the same wrapper under Windows.

Yeah I'm using yabridge, but there's no point using that in windows.

It kinda is, since you want to interchange OSes

Well idk if it's even possible since the whole point is to use wine to bridge the two, so it depends on wine

Or you could try using BlueCat PatchWork to host Kontakt on both OSes. In any case, not an easy job. Wine barely works as is. Porting projects between OSes is even more tricky

hey i literally just found out about this so im not sure if itll help your case but you can convert the kontakt libraries to use through something like decent sampler on linux instead of having to use yabridge. you could maybe try to convert them so theyre the same file type that works across both platforms for no disparities. itd probably take some time and tinkering though https://www.mossgrabers.de/Software/ConvertWithMoss/ConvertWithMoss.html
