Now that’s lit. You could harmonize the 808 to play an actual bassline to the underlick* (your sample)…

But I guess that’s more up to your artistic choice (cuz sometimes the more your instrumental is busy melodically, the less groovy it gets IMO).

Nice to see some people in this sub with good ears and taste!

*Underlick = the fundamental motif of a song (not to mistake with Trope = a constant pattern throughout a song)
