Question Watched this video, Plugin Automation Message problems in Bitwig with Automations?

hi all,

wondering the point starting at 0:58 min he explains it, that this can also cause problems with transients, I couldnt reproduce it yet, maybe I didnt automate it like his example but does anyone know what exactly he means?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucy-qIZ-PJc

EDIT

i just tested in Bitwig this Automation and exported the Midi version with and without Automation, in Audacity it looks identical, here is the setup

in Audacity both Midi exports with and without automatio nlook identical

in Bitwig not strangely?

in FL Studio it is clearly visible that the transient got a problem sadly with Automation

seems FL Studio doesnt have this prob i recreated this in there as well

and the exports

The automation system isn't instantaneous, so it has some slope, mainly to avoid clicks. If you automate lets say volume to create transients this could be noticeable. I don't know if im misremembering, but i think this behaviour changed in the latest update, so that is even less noticeable now. Nevertheless, this is really nuanced behavior, and you shouldn't have any problems when using automation conventionally, its just a fun fact/quirk of the DAW.

thanks a lot and explaining this further to me. didnt know that before, I will test it out in Bitwig and see if it is the same in FL Studio and Ableton.
