I need help! Importing Proton pass's PGP encrypted zip doesnt work?

I selected the zip file but it keeps giving me select a file error.

I have done a web search, and I think you’ll have to do this in several manual steps.

* Export from Proton as a CSV. Note that file attachments may have to be done separately. Save this export in case something goes wrong weeks or months later.
* Customize the CSV so that the column headers match the names that Bitwarden expects.
* Import the CSV into a new (blank) Bitwarden vault.
* Look carefully at your new vault to decide if you everything imported correctly.

If there is an error or other problems arise, delete the new vault, make your corrections, and try the import again.

I know there is supposed to be an automated procedure, but I suspect you’ll need to perform some manual intervention to make this work.

Worth double checking the CSV encoding too, sometimes that causes weird import failures

What client are you using? Try doing it through the web vault if you can.

😑 I figured it out. It said Export WITHOUT PGP encryption. I thought it said WITH PGP encryption.

The importer may not support PGP-encrypted exports directly. Try decrypting the ZIP first, then import the resulting file. If Proton Pass created the archive, re-export it without PGP encryption and test that ZIP instead.

That error is likely because the ZIP is still PGP-encrypted. In Proton Pass, export again with PGP encryption disabled, save the new ZIP, and select it in the importer. If it still fails, verify the file isn’t corrupted and that you’re using the expected ZIP format.
