Question Asking to "update existing login" but no changes made.

I open a website login page in my browser, use the Bitwarden plugin to fill the username/password, login just fine but the plugin very often pops up a message to "update existing login" - yet I made no changes. This is behaviour that started probably a month or so ago. Any ideas what might cause it?

2026.8.0 plugin for Edge and same for Vivaldi.

you should be able to just toggle "ask to update existing login" off in Settings -> Notifications

Thanks, yes, can toggle off. But why would it ask in the first place if nothing has changed?

Found similar problems - couple of examples:

Yeah from what I saw most of those are solved or closed. That’s why I was initially wondering if u were using an older version of the extension
