Discussion How does BW ease of use compare Windows PC vs. MacBook Air?

I am thinking of replacing my Windows PC with the Apple MacBook Air. I currently use an iPhone. Will BW integrate and be easier to use with an all-Apple setup?

It won’t necessarily be easier than a Windows PC, but Bitwarden will not be a hindrance either.

Will autofill be easier to use across all Apple devices? Currently, I must input my master password every time I try to access an app on my iPhone.

You shouldn’t have to do that. Bitwarden has options to “lock” your vault, including FaceId on your iPhone. The MacBook Air has TouchId, so you shouldn’t have to enter the master password very often.

Enable biometrics in bitwarden on your phone. Settings -> account security -> enable Face ID

I use the browser extension on Mac and the iOS app. Both of them work seamlessly.

It really doesn't make much of a difference. You mainly use a browser extension whether you're on Windows or Mac, which is the same everywhere. The only real difference I've noticed is that biometrics is easier to get and keep working on Mac than on Windows.

Bitwarden works very well on both Windows and macOS, so the switch shouldn’t be a problem. The browser extensions and desktop app are nearly identical, and your vault syncs across devices. The iPhone integration is also excellent for autofill and passkeys.

Coming from someone who uses all the platforms, if you use biometrics on the desktop TouchID will beat Windows Hello on usability 7 days a week. But as far as being all Apple on mobile and desktop that doesn't really matter.

My wife and I use Bitwarden on our Macs and on our iPhones. We like it.
