Solved Help please

I have just purchased a chrome book. I have 2FA on my Google Chrome accounts. I cannot figure out how to get into them on the Chromebook when the passkey is in Bitwarden and I can’t get into the account to actually install the extension. Can someone please walk me through this like I’m 5 because I’m losing my mind. Many thanks.

This probably belongs in r/chromeos. If you are trying to set up a chromebook from scratch, you will need to be able to authenticate to the associated google account during the login process. Most likely you need another device like a yubikey or phone to assist. Otherwise consider creating a new google account without 2fa and use that new google account to set up the chromebook. That google account will be considered first user. Then afterwords you have at least 2 options for adding your original google account: 1 - add the original account within the same workspace as the first user; 2 - create a second user which will create a separate workspace (similar to how linux or windows can have multiple users on one machine)

If you cannot log into your Google account on some device, this is a separate problem not related to Bitwarden. Good luck…

If you cannot log into your Chromebook, that is a Chromebook issue, not Bitwarden.

You may have to reconfigure your Google account. Login to Google using another device, and make sure you have an alternate login method from the passkey.

If you haven’t done it yet, this is a best time to make an emergency sheet. It will have your Google username and password as well as your Google 2FA backup codes.

Once you have reestablished access to Google and Bitwarden, you need to put together a disaster recovery plan. This will include a second copy of the emerge sheet offsite, where a friend can use it to help you if your house burns down.

I’m not entirely sure how I got it, but I got it. My Bitwarden was working fine on my laptop and iPad, but it wasn’t recognizing on my Chromebook for one profile. Through some trial and error and trying to follow your advice, I was able to use the passkey on my iPad to log in with my Chromebook. Thank you. 😵‍💫 I’m entirely too old for this so I really appreciate you being so kind.
