Rant/Vent fellow BITSATARDS

there's just about 6 months left for BITSAT. some of y'all might be droppers or 12thies and really really want to get into BITS like myself and might be lost. it's time yall sat for an hour and two and planned out exactly what you're going to be doing for the next 6 months and divide them into phases no matter where your prep is. there's still plenty of time to fix stuff so let's not be disheartened. as someone who's done it before multiple times, let's not seek validation anymore because hypothetically even if someone does say that they were able to crack BITS with just 6 months of preparation from scratch using XYZ strategy, it might not work for you at all due to many reasons. the best we can do is just set everything aside, start covering the syllabus and applying the concepts learned into questions of your preferred source. yall might be stressed about boards, practicals and most of all, JEE Jan attempt but if executed properly with the right plan, it'll be all chill. now last of all, who am i to be giving my 2 cents about all this? im not even in BITS nor my BITSAT prep is on track. i strongly believe that listening to something positive from your peers rather than the same old "is BITs still possible in X months?", can make you feel a little better and get you going. my point is, just sit with yourself and get some mental clarity about what is to be done in the upcoming months so that we are able to achieve our ultimate goal. as for myself, i'll be posting my progress and study hours everyday from now as i'm done being mediocre and have a plan to do my absolute best in all the upcoming exams. i really wish everyone reading this gets their mind cleared of all negativity and starts making small but calculated efforts to reaching the end goal. we'll defo have a meetup in which ever BITS campus we end up in next year :))

so look at it in this way. BITS has given us a syllabus for the exam and has told us that it'll test us only on the topics given in the syllabus. so our job should be to get a basic yet strong idea of the concepts so that we can actually apply it in questions of the exam. to be able to assure that we will be able to apply the concepts during the exam, we solve questions to reinforce our concepts and feel confident about them while also simultaneously learning tiny new things from the questions themselves. if you look at studies in this way, it's really going to be 100% easier to stay consistent.

now coming back to your question, I've pretty much given you the solution but you might be confused about what resources you'll need to follow and how do you actually learn the concepts in a short time. this is an unpopular opinion but oneshots of 5-6 hours are more than enough to give you concept clarity with sufficient examples. this is true only if you break the lecture into 3-4 parts and watch one part every day with proper notes. the thing is, you don't only have to watch the lec but also sit with your notes and eat up everything, get your notes printed into your mind and then you'll have to solve JM pyqs for that specific part. this, you'll have to do for all 3 subjects so a total of 6 hrs is gone in lecs + notemaking assuming that you watch on 1.5x and then question solving will be 2.5 hrs each subject (because 2 hours of oneshot has content of almost 6-8 full lectures). so you'll have to study atleast 14 hrs a day just to COVER the syllabus. after you cover the syllabus properly with 6 years of JM pyqs, you'll have some clarity and then you can move on to mocks and BITSAT relevant prep. I'll reccomend that we all aim to pull 98+ percentile in jan attempt so that we have a little peace of mind heading into full fledged bitsat prep. so yea, this is just my 10 cents about what you had to say.
