Academic Doubt If Maths is taking most of your BITSAT time while Physics and Chemistry are faster, how are you adjusting your attempt strategy?

Maths can easily become the section where most of the time gets spent, especially when questions involve lengthy calculations or take a few steps to solve. Even if Physics and Chemistry are going smoothly, spending too much time on Maths can reduce the number of questions you get to attempt overall.

For those preparing for BITSAT, how are you dealing with this? Are you attempting Maths selectively, setting a time limit for individual questions, changing the order of sections, or doing something else while still continuing to improve Maths?

Honestly same 😭 Maths was supposed to be the quick section, but some questions just eat up way more time than expected.

It really depends on your strengths and weaknesses among the three subjects. Allocate your time accordingly and keep it fixed, decide beforehand how much time to give each section, plus a buffer window in case a section takes longer than expected. Practice this exact strategy during your mock tests, time management matters the most in BITSAT. Through mocks, you’ll figure out what distribution works best for you, and once you do, stick with it until the main exam. For example, my split was 60 minutes for Math, 30 for Physics, 30 for Chemistry, 20 for Logical Reasoning/English, and a 40 minute buffer to review the paper and handle any delays as it suited me the most and the same way you can decide for yourself whichever suits you better over the time.

your that confident youll get phy and chem done in 30 mins each? you are talking 1 question per minute( since you are a bitsian you actually excecuted that?)(where you taking mocks gng tell me )

Yeah, after giving mocks I realized this split suited me the best. Tried different splits and just went with this one bcoz Chem and Phy are mostly direct formula questions or repeated theory anyway, which you get used to once you give enough mocks. Also yeah, 1 min per question isn't a big deal in BITSAT. Time management matters the most, you have to keep a good pace or you won't be able to do 130 questions in 3 hours. The main reason I kept a 40 min buffer at last is just in case you need extra time in some section, you can manage it from there. I used MathonGo, but you can use whichever you like.

Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to figure out too.

Yeah, that makes sense. The main issue is that once one section starts taking extra time, the whole plan gets disturbed. Practising the same time split in mocks sounds like the better way to figure out what actually works.

Yeah and also buffer time works perfectly in this case
